Let me guess. You are using flat top batteries when it is suggested to use button top on that mod? Ask me how i know this?

I have a few idea's. But the first question i have is.. doesn't the Tobh have an adjustible center pin? From what i see, it does. You just get a flathead screwdriver that fit's that bottom pin and screw it so it pokes out more to make contact. Unless you have a badly made clone.

Are there any standard techniques for adding some length to the bottom contact screw on say, a Tobh? I'm trying to get it working on a new 2SIX I picked up (the Tobh is a 28mm model).

I need something between 1/32 and 1/16 of an inch extra.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I wanted my screw longer too but the shallow gap didn't let any of my limited supply of screwdrivers to turn it. I straightened a paper clip, ran it through the wire hole on the center post, and twisted the paperclip ends counter clockwise with pliers. The pin lowered like I hoped it would.

Cheap clone here, btw...

no that screw holds the center post in... at least it does on my tobeco clone.

As far as lengthening the center pin, I'd say get a plastic washer small enough to fit in and .... the center copper screw enough to tighten the center post. Just make sure its heat resistant.

Great idea! Thanks.

Ah, excellent points, thank you all! I was thinking about trying to stack some kind of additional washer under the center post. I have three 28mm Tobhs, two (black, copper) are definitely Tobecco, stainless probably is. The two mods are both authentic. I sent Allan de Silva a message on Facebook asking for some pointers, will post back here if I get any new information.

I also have a no name 22mm Tobh which had a post that was too long for the 4NINE. All three of my 28mm are too short in the 2SIX. It works (I guess) with a magnet on top of the battery, but I read that neodymium is not a good conductor so I thought I'd ask for other ideas.

That solder idea is definitely interesting, can you grind solder down?

I did loosen the contact screw to see if I could get any extra length out of it, but it does hold in the center post. Free tip: don't work with your hands over your lap, when things drop you spend 20 minutes under your desk looking for washers. :)

Muahaha! When you take out the contact pin screw, there are two insulators. The insulator on the bottom is recessed on one side (countersunk). If you flip over the bottom insulator washer so that the cup is facing up towards the post, the 2SIX fires!

Going to pick up some of those items you all posted anyway, nice things to keep in the back pocket.

Thanks all!

Hope it's okay to bump this... I picked up a 2six / 5-post TOBH clone and the TOBH had been sitting dormant for a few weeks now because it wouldn't fit on my ohm meter (madvapes when they first got them) so I had to carefully use pliers to take the ego connection off. Even then it wouldn't read and I don't like building without knowing what I have built so it sat there. Then out of curiosity I searched on here and found this thread. The paperclip trick didn't work and I nearly impaled my thumb a few times, so I used the .... end of a screw driver and took my frustration out and after about 1/16" like said previously it now reads on my meter, and fires in my 2six so Yay! Thanks people! :D Now when I get home from this meeting I can have a legit 30mm atty on my 2six Woohoo!
