How do clearomizers go bad? Do they slowly stop working by producing less and less vapor or do they all of a sudden just stop working? I have a couple that are pushing around 3 weeks old and it seems like one of them is producing less than it did when its was new....I guess thats a sign its burning out right?

Haven't been doing this long enough yet..

Thanks.

During normal use they get a build up on the coil and you'll get less and less vapor as this goes on, I would'nt call this " going bad" though, they just need to be cleaned to bring them back to life. I usually clean mine after I run somewhere between 4ml and 10ml of juice through them, depending on the particular juices gunking capability. Performance will degrade over time, mine usually last between a month or two depending. I toss them when performance is too sub par or when the coil actually breaks and there is no performance at all. It's best to check if your coil is bad with a meter, sometimes it's just not getting a good connection with the battery and something needs to be adjusted.

Three weeks with out cleaning is a bit long. Probably gunked up good. Next time if you have a spare soak it good in at least water if possible alcohol for a night and flush it out good. Can get a bit more life out of them that way. If it taste burnt it's cleaning time or time for a new head if you have a repairable or a new one if you have a standard clearo.

I did clean it with water once but that was awhile ago so I guess its time for cleaning..I just wasn't sure if a clearomizer will slowly die due to age and use or just quit one day without notice.

thanks for the reply's.

They will die absolutely when the coil pops (the wire separates, which creates a short). Sooner or later, they'll develope a weak spot and it'll happen. Other than that, clean and dry burn!
