I assume it'd carry over to cartomizers, clearomizers, etc..

So…how can you tell? A few people have said "when they start performing worse", but……volume of vapor? taste? etc. Any specifics?

I've been throwing mine away when the juice flavor starts to get taken over (a bit) by something that tastes (not feels) kind of like licking the terminals of a 9V battery (you know…to see whether it's dead or not). Just wondering if that's right or not.

Hi Mostapha, I test my atties(etc) with an ohm meter if they are in question. More often than not you will notice an overall un pleasant ness to an atty(etc) when its near the end of its useable life. The first thing I usually notice is the overalll volume of vaopr seems less. Then following that the flavor seems lessened, to some degree. As useage continues it becomes more noticeable and eventually just becomes not enjoyable.

Most atties(etc) will develop a build up of gunk around the heating element which could resrtict airflow and heat penetration to the remaining liquid we are trying to vaporize. Some atties can be cleaned most folks either boil them for a few five to ten minute sessions or they soak them in a food grade alchohol like everclear or vodka. Either of these methods require some kind of blowing out and drying of the atty(etc). Some folks "Dry Burn" their atomizers and ce2 and some clearomizers. I have done all the above sometimes with mixed results. Most atomizers can be cleaned and reused with good results, as well as ce2 and some clearomizers, the cartomizers I have boiled probably over 100 total and have succeeded in reusing about 35 with fair results.

The batteries are really the only parts that are intended to be used hard through their lifespan all the rest is considered "consumables" meaning when it stops working as you would like it to it should be replaced(or cleaned) where possible. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

I wish I could answer about taste, but I'm only on my second atomizer ( a ego mega tank type B which I alternate with simple boge cartomizers). My first atomizer just died, period, only after about 6 days of use, cleaned is twice during its use. My second try with this atomizer, so far, I'm passing a week, and it seems to be working fine ( gulp). Im not cleaning this one, at this pont.
