These are. So are these 14250s, and those should fit with no modifications.

yea those CR2's wont fit i believe there going to be once you stack them 4mm to large to fit but i picked up a couple of those to just to see but i seen some one just put a rubber washer inbeteen the gap it leaves on the body to make it look more complete and the 14250 are 3.6v not 3v so i would be careful with poping your atty. but if you stack those you can fit in any 14500 mod or just about.

But iam not worried about unprotected batteries i think the hole blow up thing is over kill but thats just my opinion just use comman sence

Might wanna consider removing all the stock stuff and shove a micro 5v reg with switching pin in there.

That will let you use two CR2's and Maybe even protected ones as you could pack your reg way up against the connector, and without the factory PCB disk it could give you the extra couple mm to close the casing all the way. This will also ensure your getting the 5v "sweet spot" and provide mosfet-like switching so the stock switch operates at much lower voltage:) this will alleviate concerns of the stock micro switch burning out @ high voltage, as mine is already getting sketchy after three days @6V.

And the standard protection built in to this unit is for 3.7V batteries, it will shut off when source voltage drops below 2.2v across the circuit. This, IMO, won't protect the CR2's in line because when their combined voltage reaches 2.2 that would suggest the individual cells are @ or below 1.1V.

If I've done the math wrong someone please chime in but I think 1.1V in a 3V battery is low enough to kill off it's cycle life, if not create a meltdown.

Really three days wow how long have you had your dse 905 before you did this mod to it????
Thats crazy i seen someone had said that they are still going strong with there V2 moded with the cr2 batteries for about 6 months now

yes that is very low it will kill the batteries but who really runs there batterys that low once i see a slight decrease in vaper that i dont like i switch out the batteryes you know
