I understand that new users are not permitted to post links, this will limit abuse. How does a user get permission to have a post which contains a legitimate link?

I believe you will be able to post links after your 5th post and the servers update (at :25 past the hour).

Do replies count or do I need to make 5 new posts?
I read the new members stuff and inferred that 5 posts was a trigger but it wasn't clear what level of permissions link require. Sometimes that is a separate thing.

Replys do count as posts. No need to start a new thread unless you have something specific you want to ask or post about.
