You need to research. Do you want a mechanical mod, a standard regulated mod, a high-wattage regulated mod, or even a mechanical box mod like a Reo?

Advancing Up the Vaping Ladder

Regulated mods allow you to adjust the voltage/wattage output to the juice delivery device and offers built-in protection circuitry which makes the device much safer to use. A purely mechanical mod is a stripped down battery holder with no protection built in.

A mod should be comfortable to hold in the hand. Consider the weight and shape of the device. Also consider the placement of the firing button (side or bottom placement). Also consider the origin of the device: Mods from China generally come with no or limited warranty - should the device fail you will be without a vaping device and require immediate replacement. Something like a Provari is made in the USA, comes with a year warranty, and is supported for life should it require repair. Something to think about.
