Hello yall, I'm from Copperas Cove, TX, a town near Fort hood. I stopped dipping smokeless tobacco about a month ago. The change from good tasting dip (Copenhagen Black- bourbon flavored) to an eCig was a big change. I dipped for snuff for about 19 years. I'm not sure, but I think snuff has higher nicotine levels than ejuice. Anyways I started on 2.4 or 24 mg level and have acclamated nicely to it. I tried Blu ecigs and failed, I tried a brand called White Rhino from the Quick stop, which did ok, but left me wanting more vape. Today I purchased a eVic mod with a smok pyrex dual coil carto (hope I said that right), I am very impressed and glad I got that set up. I no longer feel like needing "more vape" or switching back to Copenhagen. Thanks for reading, I will post a pic of my set up in that other thread later.

I'm a newb to vaping and enjoying it so far, thanks yall.

Ehhh... we've all been new here at some point. It will pass. :D

Nice hardware setup. It sound like you didn't have to make too many mistakes - cough Blu cough - before you found hardware that works. Blue just doesn't work well - as you found out. There's a lot of technical reasons why, mostly to do with that itty biddy battery.

Couple things to keep in mind:

In general cartos don't lost very long - 6 days average. And some times you can get a bad lot. Open up a new box of 5 and find 3 of them are DOA. Don't allow yourself to get caught short on cartos.

The nic level question in vaping is a funny thing. There seems to be a wide range of what people absorb from vaping so there is no hard rule to advice on what is the right nic level for anyone. It could be that you do get more nic from dipping - never done it myself. (But the way you absorb the nicotine from vaping is pretty much the same.) If you have any concern at all you can also get something in 30 to 36 mg to have on hand for craving fits. I had to do that when I started. Most of the day I was fine with 24 mg but I always had two bad fits every day - first thing in the morning, and right before bed for some reason. I only needed to use the extra nic level for the first 90 days or so, but it really helped with craving fits. (Former 2 PAD smoker.)

Welcome! And best wishes for this journey.

I headed straight here before I made my first purchase. Just googled "electronic cigarette" and there she was - ECF right at the top. It was a huge help when making my first purchase decisions - and with everything else after that.

If your local shop does custom mixing - lucky you - you may be able to get just 30 mg to see how that sits. It's all simple math when it comes to mixing and nic levels. Just depends on how much they want to bother.

BTW: Your carto tank being Pyrex? They done you good. One newbie thing you can skip right over is the problem of certain flavorings cracking plastic tanks. With a glass tank it's simply a non issue. Glass costs more - and you do have to be careful not to break it - but the first time you see a plastic tank split and crack because you load it with a flavor like Cinnamon Red Hots... most people then wish they started with glass to begin with. (It's not that there is anything dangerous about the flavorings. There's just some things you cannot put in certain kinds of plastic.)

When you start a good vape shop can be your best friend. Saving money by purchasing online can always come later. There's still not a single vape shop in the metro Boston area. Go figure.

Thanks, Vaping has BLOWN up here in central Texas. I did get lucky that the local shop is owned by a cool dude (firefighter) and the last thing he wants to do is screw over Military people. He hooked me up and educated me on tanks for cinnamon. I will keep going to him for ejuice, but after getting more education here, I will start buying online.

Will do Sir. The guy actually forgot to charge me for a couple of things yesterday and still gave me a hefty Military discount, maybe cause the store was kinda busy. Also he owns a Jeep, I own a Jeep LOL. I also told him I have connections for Jeep parts (dealership friend). It was an all around great experience. I'm think though, mostly cause I am in a military town, if you piss one of off....you piss off the entire POST. Word of mouth can be good and or damaging.

Thank you Dean, yes, after two weeks my cheek stopped hurting and my breath cleared up. The Army dentist told me I needed to quit or change dipping spots cause the wear was starting to show on my gums.
