Newbie to e-cigs, been a smoker for over 40 years. Much as some folks all seem into the glam-models, I'm not looking to hang onto a heavy ANYTHING. I have smoked pipes, as well.

Started smoking as a kid, when it was 'cute' for the little-one to light the cigs for all the poker-players. Never been able to totally kick the habit. Down to about a carton a month, but it doesn't seem to be getting lower. Smoke more and expect to use the e-cigs more, behind the wheel. Something about being alert for every weirdo on the road makes me nervous. Since driving is one of my main places to smoke, I plan to stick with the models that look like cigarettes (analogues, as I see they're being called).

Biggest problem, so far is the feel of the use of the ones I have found. After a few days, it's actually easier to breathe if I go back to smoking. Breathing is like trying to run and breathe in heavy fog. Been suggested by others that I try a straight VG w/water base.

I would like some help trying to come close to the scent/taste of ultralights, then some of the pipe tobacco scents. Used to mix my own pipe tobacco from a golden cavendish and something else, but been so long, I plumb forget...

From what I've seen, the e-cig I have, from the local stop-n-rob is a low-power automatic 510 (brand is "Clean Cig"). Their full-flavor actuall is a bit heavy, as well as the heavy feel to my breathing, afterward. The type suits my usage, as well as not being a burden to use, hands-free. Never liked the plastic mini-cigar tips. Just plan on using the round cigarette-.... type.

Anywho, I'm near Austin, Texas, married, 5 kids (16-25).

Later,
Jeff

Hi and welcome to ECF! I dont personally use a cig-a-like, I couldnt find one with enough battery and juice capacity to not be a hassle. I hear a ton of great things about the eRoll and its PCC (Personal charging case) - but I am sure some of the folks who are well versed on the cig-a-likes will be by soon.

Maybe giving unflavored nic liquid a shot would be a good idea - many say its resemblant of a marlboro light, I find it rather pleasant on occasion myself. Trying high or all VG may be a good option as well. For cavendish flavors check out nicquid, goodlife bangkok dangerous and ahlusion. You will find a nice assortment to look through there and see what intrigues you :)

Good luck on your journey and Happy vaping!

I had tried all of the cig-a-likes and they just never seemed to cut it. I always ended up going back to smoking after a while. The feeling you are having with the heaviness when breathing after a while could be that your body is getting rid of the gunk that has built up in your lungs. I know I had a bout with this as well. After a couple of weeks it was crazy the stuff that came up. After about a week it started clearing up and haven't had much issue with it since. The tobacco flavor you are looking for will probably be elusive. There are a lot of tobacco type flavors that are close but they just don't quite get there. I found that once i tried other flavors that the choices were infinite. If you drive a lot you may want to try an eGo type system. They are about smaller and are easy to use. They are reliable, inexpensive and will serve you well. I wish you well and hope you can find a way to drop the cigs. You will thank yourself later! Welcome!

I made the switch in one day, with a lot of preparation (back-ups, etc.) I never found a tobacco flavor that seemed the same, but then again, their are a gazillion chemical flavorings in an analog cig. Actually, I no longer want to be reminded of it. The flavors that are available in vaping just go way beyond that of an analog or cig-a-like. Now that I don't smoke cigarettes, my body has changed so much for the better.

Looking at it as a hobby, I love trying different juices and hardware. Its all just personal choice towards getting the most enjoyment.

on the basis that smoking is sucking smoke produced by burning and vapping is to inhale steam, "as if you breathe mist produced by the water vapour"
the two things are different,
Although resembles it visually, it is totally different, we strive to find similarities, and comparisons are odious,
the habit of smoking is a habit that kills,
the vapeo is the way to quit smoking more amicably, and pass this process with the least possible trauma...

I wonder
many people have died and will die from smoking?
How many people died by vapping an?

I think the conclusion is clear

Bing Traductor

cuantas personas an muerto por vapear?

creo que la conclusión es evidente

Comparing deaths attributed is invalid, since 'vaping' hasn't been around long enough to actually compare numbers. Give that a fifty, or a hundred years, then base it off a calculated equal number of people, rather than saying it's 'only' killed 'x' number, compared to the 'x' number of smokers. Out of estimated TOTAL smokers 'x%' died vs estimated TOTAL e-vapers 'x%' died. Some smokers never have an issue, while others will get black-lung, COPD and/or cancer. That can happen just from exposure to smog.

I understand the enthusiasm for all the flavors. We've had flavored rolling papers and flavored tobacco since at least the '70s... Never could get into it. I have a limited range of likes and a few things I plan to experiment with, but I don't expect it to go into any wide-range selection.

I'm exactly like you, wanting the cigarette feel out of vaping. I just got the eRoll and its taken the place of cigarettes for me! I couldn't really just vape because I missed the hand to mouth and the feel of holding a cigarette. Last night I had friends over drinking and one of them is a smoker. I was not tempted even once to go out and smoke with him. I just puffed my eRoll.

Welcome to the board raven1962. If you used to smoke a pipe then you might want to consider a pipe mod. You can then try any juice you want. Pipes are all I use because they feel so natural like smoking a pipe. Also seems to fit vaping better to me. Here's a link to my most recent pipe purchase. It has all you need to get started: King Mechanical Electronic Pipe: High Quality ePipe | Aqua Vapor eCig

There is also a section here for mods and a subsection for epipes if your interested. Regardless, glad to have you here and best of luck!!!
