Greetings to everyone.

Wanted to post a hello. I officially quit analogs about a week and a half ago when my wife and I both got eGo kits (not sure which ones, 1100mAh batteries, but not VV). I've smoked pretty straight for the last 16 or 17 years, with the exception of quitting completely for 8 months after a 100% collapse of my right lung. I was dumb enough to start back up again, but oh well.

I tried a Blu in the past but didn't like it at all, not sure why. I love the tank and liquid system, though.

Looking for a decent tank for my setup now, as well as sampling some different flavors and types of juice. Need to find what is right for me still. Joined up here to see what others have to say and hopefully learn a lot about future purchases.

I've thought about the iClear 30, and also the Vivi PBC (as well as the ProTank, and others). I want something that's going to be easy to maintain (the one I have currently does not have a replaceable coil that I can determine, and that's part of what I want) and easy to clean while I search for the right flavor.

Currently using a peach flavor that my wife likes. It's ok, but not the best. Of course, that could be the clearomizer I have, too (which looks like a vision v2 without the removable bottom) that is not giving me the best flavor out there.

Either way, I'm not going back. Tired of smelling like cigarettes all the time.

zoo,
Weclome to the ECF forum,
and CONGRATS on the week and a half.
What flavors/nic strength are you vaping now, what kind of tank.
That will give us a direction to point you in....:)

For my tanks, using all bottom coil clearomizers....ProTankII, Evod BCC, BCC knock off 2ML clearo.
Pluids, mostly blueberry, strawberry, citrus, some tobacco blends........

Right now, like I said it looks like a vision v2 (1.6mL capacity), but the bottom is not removable. Local smoke shop has a tupperware full of them.

Just looked at another shop, and it also looks like a Kanger Stardust (CE4). No markings on it, so I can't confirm if that's what it is.

Right now I'm using 12mg peach that I got at the local shop. Can't remember the brand and the label came off the bottle after I opened it so I can't even go look. Also have some 6mg mint that I didn't like at all (haven't been a menthol smoker in a very long time).

I have an order in for a few sample flavors for my wife and I from ECBlend (RY4 and a coffee for me, coconut and s'mores for her). Not entirely sure what I'm looking for yet, but I know that I keep craving a normal smoke (I've resisted buying any and my wife and I both threw out everything related to smoking when we switched over), which likely means that the peach flavor isn't doing the job.

Kanger EVODs were the best performing cheap clearomizers for me they have replaceable heads. The knock offs have issues so try and buy authentic EVODs if you choose to go that way.

If you keep craving a normal smoke you may need to go up in nicotine level.

I was silly and bought about 20 flavors, to make sure I didn't get bored.

Unless you do not have many vape shops around there may be somewhere where you can try all these before you buy them. Some of them even have the little condom things for them.

I still use the EVODs for flavors that are better with short use. I use the ProTank 2 for my all day vape. It uses the same heads as the EVODs. There are some that do not like them though, this is a very subjective pastime.

Hello, Welcome, and Congrats on making the switch liquidzoo. A good tank most people use are the iClear 16 and the iClear 30's. They give very good hits. I'm sure someone will come along and give you more options. Good luck and Happy Vaping, keep us posted on your progress! :vapor:

I would also add a glass tank to the mix for those known tank cracking juices out there. ProTank 2 is what I use for these and get very good vapor and throat hits from them. I also have and occasionally use the iClears as well but watch those tank cracking liquids in them.

The more I read and the more I hear about them, the ProTank might be the way to go for me. Who knows, though. I'll do some more research over the next few days before I place an order. It's that or go buy 2 more of the same CE4s I have now for when the other flavors come in to try.

I've read about tank cracking, but I'm not sure what it refers to. Is that for the really strong citrus or cinnamon juices?

hey liquidzoo, glad to see you made it into the big ECF party... :toast:

is this the kinda tank you're talking about ? (sorta close)
- DV eGo CE4+ Clearomizer - 2.4 Ohms

some batteries (VV too) and I like the "bottom coil" (bcc) from Kanger

- Kanger T0 T2 T3 T4 T5 EVOD ProTank Clearomizers
- Kanger T3s/Mini T3s/MT3s
- Vision Spinner - 1300mah - White

here's a place to have-a-look-see to for juice
- Best E Cigarette | Buy Electronic Cigarettes | E Cig Juice - MT Baker Vapor

have fun and lets us know what direction ya went :)

That's exactly the sort of tank I am talking about (though locally they cost double that...).

Looking for a new tank (likely a Kanger or SmokTech model) first, then I'll start looking into replacement batteries. As of right now the one I have is doing well and I don't feel the need to replace it. Not quite sure what the benefits of a VV battery are, anyway. Something else to learn while I'm here, that's for sure.

the benefits of a variable voltage battery :

-a standard battery outputs a single value (3.4volts)

-a variable voltage battery-you can adjust the output to fit your vaping needs (3.2v - 4.8v)

- - - -

like a lawn mower

-simple push mower, pull start it-it runs up to FAST and ya mow...

-fancy push mower, electric start, select gear, adjust speed then mow... (they both cut your grass)

or something like that..

What does changing the voltage actually do for me, though?

Also, is a BCC tank going to be better than the one linked above?
Is there anything I should look out for? Pretty sure that I'm going to order today.

it allows you to increase or decrease the power to the atomizer (coil)

atomizing heat applied so to get your juice at the optimum temperature for vapor and flavor

the coil heats (atomizes) the juice :
-too much heat burns the juice
-not enuff heat, less vapor and flavor

--variable voltage, you can adjust for different conditions
--fixed battery does not allow for this needed adjustment

a bottom coil vs a top coil is a personal choice
I don't care for the top coil style for the most part...

Thanks, that's a good explanation.

One thing I have noticed with the tank I have currently is that occasionally I will get a hit off of it that tastes off. It's hard to explain, but I'd be willing to bet that others here know what I'm talking about. Based on reading, it may be the top coil and the wicks not having enough juice on them (or something like that). That's why I want to try a bottom coil tank. I'd like to get 2 (a smaller one (maybe 1.5-2mL) for my wife) that use the same coils, so that's what I'm looking for right now.

Another question...I was looking at the iClear 30 just now and it comes (from MadVapes) in 2 different versions: 1.5 and 2.1 Ohm. It seems like the 2.1 would be right for me (with the non-variable eGo battery), but what would be the difference? Why would I want to change the resistance and what would be the benefit of doing so?

Sorry, just want to make an informed decision. Vaping is so much nicer than smoking ever was.

i30 is a top coil / dual coil / and a plastic tank

sounds like you would like a big & small protank (his & hers)

- Kanger Protank II - 101 Vape
- Kanger Protank II mini - 101 Vape
- http://101vape.com/clearomizers/40-kanger-protank-replacement-coils.html#/ohms-1_8

"Why would I want to change the resistance and what would be the benefit of doing so?"
*see above post*- the lower # ohm coil generally perform better with fixed output egos

:)
