HTML showing up in edit field

When I go to edit a post, HTML is showing up and I need to use
tags, etc to format the text properly.... Sent PMs are also being sent out without proper formatting.

It would be helpful to know what browser you're using, what version of your browser, your operating system, etc. Our coder will need to know in order to look at the issue.

I'm on a Mac, running OS 10.6.7, using Firefox 5.0.1... Fwiw, it only started doing it today.

Any updates with this? I'm getting sick of having to type <br> tags for every line break... I forget to in PMs, and then see the formatting later and realize it's a mess (especially bad for addresses).

I don't have any problems with other forums I frequent, so it's definitely something that was done on this site that's causing it.

Safari is fine, the issue exists in Firefox. Other forums don't have this issue in Firefox. This issue only happened recently.

i dont have FF on the mac and i am not planning to install it,(it is my main working computer) I hope someone see this post and help

an added question that should be considered -- have you tried running ff with add-ons disabled? just trying to eliminate the possibilities, i don't have a mac.

The only add-on I have installed is Adblock+.

Like I said though, other forums I'm on still work fine, the issue only exists on this forum. Forgot to mention, I can't use the emoticons either.. I click them and nothing happens.
