Did the odds of winning increase the more you posted? Is this the usual here? Am fairly a newbie.

No, I messed up my original entry so I think but I'm not sure I disqualified myself. And I read more than I post so I don't get into a lot of the silly fun, but I still enjoy it.

Sorry to be unclear,I was child herding.

Still confused. Thought this was an enter to win contest. I entered, do I win?:D
Well, they gave away 10 of the 400 to the first 10 to sign up. Then they did 4 "quick draw" giveaways in the thread, 10 each time. So there are still 350 that will be drawn from the website where we registered.

If I may make a suggestion without sounding too whiny... If you are going to have a contest, have it end and post winners when you state you will in your announcement. Also, if you are going to give 50 away right off the bat, let people know on the announcement as well. I just see 400 being given away and think, WOW, but you are doing this only 50 at a time over a week's time. Am I the only one that is a little disappointed here?

Yes sounds like you are. It's something for nothing. How can that be disappointing?

Just think of the logistics involved.
Every person that entered with their name and email address has to be issued a unique number. Once you do that you have to run your random number generator. Once the first fifty numbers are selected you have to go find the name attached to that number. Since earlier winner are excluded, somehow you have to cross check the provided email to see if it matches a ECF user. Now you have to see if that user has won. it gets harder as more winners are selected unless you reissue new numbers each round so you can put 1 to however many in the random number generator.

They could very well be randomly picking all 350 all at once, but it's very labor intensive to do all the processing - lookups, notifications, postings, etc. So maybe that's why they're breaking them up into chunks of 50. Also, it's not like they have a whole office full of staff to process this stuff - it could be just maybe 2-3 people sitting in front of a computer. Don't forget, ECF is nonprofit.

...unless UpViral is doing all the processing. In that case, c'mon already!

my mom is always cold no matter how HOT it is, so ac is only allowed to go down to 77 during the day :( Already hot in house so may as well cook also ;)

I must be her real daughter!! If it goes below 76 I put on socks and a hoodie.

Now.... Just sharing my thoughts here.....
I understand that many are anxious about the conest winner being announced. I am too just to know who all of the winners are and join in the excitment!!

I posted something close to this on another thread but I think it is worth repeating. This is the first time a contest like this has happened here.
Anytime a large event happens for the first time.. There are issues that pop up that no one convieved of when planning the event.
If you all think you are stressed waiting to learn the winners... Imagine how those dealing with the logistics of this feel?
Whatever mechanism they had in place .. I do not think worked the way planned.
Or maybe it did and maybe it was just not communicated as well as some would have liked to those who entered. In either scenario it is their contest to run however they wish. It cost none of us anything to join except time we chose to spend.

If I ever run a contest ima put in the rules that all whiners will be disqualified and charged a fee to re enter
I think in some part, this community's just so used to immediate response and complaining to customer service when they don't get it. Even with some PIFs - sometimes when you get busy and don't mail it out right away, you get PM-bombed. They forget that this stuff's free, and they should just be grateful.
