I originally only owned a KR808D-1 and had tons of supplies. So when I recently got into HV-vaping, I bought the adaptor for the cartomizers. So everything that I vape (3.7 or 6 volts) I use cartomizers. Some other members will have to comment on the attys, but I think you go through more.
As for the juice, I bought one bottle of HV juice and I did not like it because it tasted much too sweet, but many people love the HV juice. For me at least, all the sweet juices that I like at 3.7 volts just seem much too sweet at 6 volts. Whereas, the tobacco flavors and other non-sweet flavors I really like at 6 volts. So basically, I have been using regular e-juice (36 mg) at all voltages. But I am going to give some other flavor HV juices a try.
Funny, thats the exact opposite that i've read from others.. I usually hear that HV is great with sweet/fruity flavors and it washes out tobacco. So they like sweet flavors at HV as it brings out the flavor more and stick to 3.7v with Tobacco.
This would be the same for me as well.. but since only using HV juice from Nhaler it dont matter if its a sweet flavor or Tobacco as its made for HV and the flavor is spot on as designed.
And to the OP. Yes you'll initally go threw a lot of attys as theres a learning curve with HV unlike with a regular 3.7v device. I used to blow threw a atty a day and just this week have i finally tamed the beast and got it down.
Dont over heat the atty.. If its hot to the touch, let it cool down. If your dripping and at the moment should only drip with HV, only drip enough to not flood the atty.. Currently i only use one large drop on the atty bridge and can puff away about 4-5 puffs before the vapor lessons to where i gota add another large drop.
"IF" you do flood it to where its not not burning juice and juice is pooring out the bottom of the atty, wipe it down and then blow it out just once from the cart end of the atty while holding the atty in a paper towel. Wipe it clean again and then give her a go.. I've blown many a atty by flooding it and over blowing it out where its now dry and on that next puff DEAD!
Cartos your obviously fine using a cart.. but using a 510/801/901 you should at first learn to use it by dripping. Really atm theres no current cart out there that can forsure be safe to use with a HV device that will wick the juice fast enough to not dry out the atty and kill it.
I'm surrently working on it and theres another blue foam mod called BFD that says it will work but i have not tried his version yet.
Using a Xhaler for your first mod is a great idea as you can use it for high voltage and the normal 3.7v as well. Long lasting big 3.7v battery as well!
I've also started using a HV 510 atty and so far its awesome using 2x 3.v batteries though they say its made to be used with 2x 3.7v short batteries for 7.4v vaping. The HV atty is tweaked to hit that sweet spot without getting that burnt taste as it runs at only 10 watts insted of 15-16 watts i believe the normal 510 atty would run at 6 volts. Also the best part is that they will be more durable and should not burn up like a normal atty.. Drew even said that he's like a Atty Terrorist and goes there many a atty.. but as yet to kill the HV atty he's using.
Drew now sells the HV attys in 510 and 801. Just dont expect to use them at a normal 3.7v and get much vapor as there made for 6-7v usage.
P.S. SO far i've been testing the HV 510 atty at 6v using new newest unoffical HV Blue Foam Plug and its been working perfectly since last night!
