I will begin by saying that I have not used a 4Ω atty before. That being said, I cannot see how that would play a role in the "nastiness" you are experiencing. This appears to have more to do with "blowing out" the atty so the factory residue is cleared out. Another method I use with attys, is to drip, burn, draw and immediately exhale. This way you are not dry burning the atty (higher chance of popping), you are not inahling the factory residue and you are burning the residue off.
