I started vaping thinking I would quit smoking tobaco. I had no idea what I was getting into. I have not had the urge for a tobaco cigarette in 50 days now. Here´s what I have done. Any suggestions going forward?

I started out with the Awesome Vapor 801´s. I realized quickly that the key to vaping is new equipment. New atomizers and new batteries create great vapor.

Yesterday I received my first shipment of vegetable glycerin and wow! I have been mixing it with everything and it is fantastic.

My favorite flavors are chocolate, coffee, vanilla, cream and RY4.

Now I´ve really gone and done it! I just ordered a Chuck. Jeff wrote me back on a couple quesitons and I pulled the trigger. So now I will wait and see how long for my chuck to arrive. I then went to madvapes an bought some 501 atomizers, a couple big batteries and a charger.

I´m a little concerned, but not much, that I have been reading that these batteries can explode???!!!

Anyway, I´m not smoking tobacco. Maybe I am now over doing the vaping, but hell, 30 years of smoking 3 packs a day. I´m going to vape for a while I think!

It's odd to me that the next question anybody asks after telling them about vaping is, "when are you going to quit vaping." Im with romping, I smoked for 20 years and have only been vaping for 3 months. I'm going to vape a while as well!

Congratulations on the 50 days. Quite an accomplishment...and enjoy vaping for a while.;)

I'm with you on that one Dmass! I'm getting REALLY tired of people asking me when I intend to quit vaping. I didn't INTEND to quit SMOKING! I literally STUMBLED onto them. They're the greatest thing since sliced bread and I have NO intentions of putting my PV down. :grr:

But, maybe that's the way it is for those of us that DIDN'T pick up a PV to quit smoking...;)

Way to go on your 'milestone'! And, if you enjoy vaping, keep at it! Seems like you've kicked the tobacco bug WAAAY outta your life!!

Exactly like Domino above....I accidently found this site through a Ecig video while on myspace or something like that...Checked out this forum for about a month, then ordered my Ego....Been without an analog since Feb 11....Feels great and love vaping,,,so why quit....???? I enjoy vaping and know in a heartbeat that I would go back to analogs if I quit vaping...I don't plan on taking that risk....My Motto...Keep Vaping and Enjoy the Adventure...Later.

That's my philosophy as well. I have enough supplies to last me a couple of years.

My wife asked me once about when I planned to quit vaping. I told her that I have no plans to do it. Not that it may not happen in the future, but I didn't get into this to find a way to quit, I just wanted to keep my old, nasty smoking habit, but in a much healthier form.

I have not read or looked for anything about these bat. exploding on this forum & will give you some general info. about these lithium bats.
The greatest danger is when they are charging. Someone posted on a flashlight forum about the lithium bats. exploding while charging in a hotel room- they told him to go to the emergency room now. He never posted the outcome nor to another topic again.
In general the bats. should be "protected" from the manu. now to avoid this.

The main point here is use the correct charger & don't leave it unattended.

If you bought the big Chuck it takes a 18650 and cr123' batteries. When you purchase cr123's just make sure that they are protected batteries. Always be safe, if while you are vaping and you feel the metal begin to get very warm, stop and remove the batteries, feel if the batteries are warm also, if so, stop and wait until they cool down

So very true, all of it. I enjoy the act of smoking, I enjoy the act of vaping much more. Now when I vape I don't have all the douchebags coming by and giving me a fake cough as if I'm blowing it down their throats in an open air environment. Most people are actually curious, and if they so choose, get educated on what vaping is.

Other than the die hard "well it's still nicotine and that's SOO bad for you" argument, 90% of people I meet and edjimacate about ecigs give them very positive reviews and the smokers tend to ask me where they can get more info. It's kind of nice, also not a half bad conversation starter if someone looks at you weird while you take a puff of vapor.

Just having 0mg nic juice is enough for me to see no reason to quit vaping just to get over nicotine.

Going strong on my third analog free week..Like others I stumbled onto vaping and had no intentions of quitting. I'd seen the cheapo e-cigs and kinda laughed at them..I started w/a 510 and moved to a GGTS and currently waiting a more socially acceptable Precise. Madvapes has great 36mg juice for any craving elimination. Order from them also included free samples that I also like..When you're quitting analoges you need a supply of good juice/batteries/PVs. Won't hurt to have a few high quality PVs in case there is a ban...Other types of smoke have been illegal for decades and that seems to be readily available..People always seem to assume I'm getting HIGH when they see the GGTS spewing clouds..From 3-packs a day to ZERO/I can breathe again/my sinuses aren't kicking my ... anymore/haven't burned anything by accident/my life is much better now/and my government is wanting it banned...Like I said where there is a will there is a way...A special thanks to all of you/Madvapes/Vapor Kings/IMEO/Super-T Manufacturing/Cignot for allowing me the chance to be analog FREE for the first time in thirty years....As for the government...Well my thoughts about them certainly haven't changed...F 'em..All of them....:D:D:D

/agree strongly :)
When I started vaping, I intended to quit eventually, but I had no idea it would be so easy!! Got my 510 kit and never looked back, and I was a 2 1/2 - 3 pack a day smoker for 30+ years. I have no intention of quitting vaping! I love it, and it seems that when I lower the nic down to 12mg for a few days I have major head issues - depression, anxiety etc. I just hauled out the 24mg juice today and wow I feel almost like a human being!

I am still smoking analogs also but a lot less of them. Mostly I just want them in the morning. I am still finding some nonFSC's near me...that's why. I am only switching to e cig's b/c the FSC's cause me health problems. But I plan on never quitting e cig's b/c the nicotine is good for my depression. When i tried Wellbutrin I hardly smoked at all but I had bad side effects from the med's. And when you quit the med's you start smoking again. So when people ask me when I am going to quit the e cig I just tell them I need nicotine for my depression b/c it's true. People don't like to argue with me when I say that. I've read numerous studies on depression and nicotine is just as effective as some drugs. I plan on bumping my nicotine mg up to a higher level. I would have smoked high nicotine analogs but didn't like the taste...I can do that with an e cig. Nicotine is just like caffine and people don't ask me when I am going to stop my espresso's.

You know it´s funny how the vapor replaced the tobacco. I now sit in the bathroom in the morning with my coffee and vape. Completely satisfied. I love the different jugs of juice. I feel jubilation when the charger goes green and I have a full battery.

Here in South America, there is very little access to this sort of device. All my friends who smoked tobacco saw me stop using tobacco and start using the vapor. 5 of them gave me money to buy it for them. 4 of these 5 people no longer smoke tobacco.

At first, people asked me when I was going to quit. I told them that I feared I don´t have the self control to kick the nicotine habit and that it is best i continue.

My wife still smokes tobacco. Two cigs every night. This kind of helps me though might not be good for my marriage. She stinks!!!! heheheh. I still love her but man, I can only imagine how terrible I smelled all those years.

I just went to the dentist and now my teeth are white with a chance of staying that way a while!!!

Can´t wait for the Chuck!!!!

Congrats Rompo! Isn't it a GREAT feeling to tell people you know, (and some you don't!) about vaping and have them try it then QUIT? Be proud of yourself! Then, work on your wife...;) :D

My philosophy about vaping, or really any kind of NRT, is that the industry and medical establishment have it all wrong on what to tell people. You don't approach it with the thought that you will quit smoking, then you will taper your nicotine and quit it entirely. You approach it from the get go thinking you are replacing one habit with another, but one which is much healthier. And you can quit the new habit when and IF you ever feel like it. Transitioning with the thought that you will quit the nic entirely just leaves in the back of your mind the thought that you may end up falling back on cigarettes if you can't handle losing the nic, and then, of course, this is exactly what people end up doing in most cases as they taper their nic replacement.

Statistics show that NRT's produce much better results than cold turkey...out to about 60 days. At the one year mark, they are hardly any better than cold turkey. That's because 30-60 days is when people are told to start tapering the NRT, and then they usually end up smoking again. Honestly, everyone I know who has successfully quit with either gum, losanges, or vaping is still doing it 6 months or more after they stop smoking. One person I know has been sucking losanges for 6 years. More power to him.

People who tell us that we have to stop nicotine are usually the same people who think nicotine is primarily what causes the health risks in smoking. In other words, they know nothing and should be ignored.
