Have you ever tried vaping something like unflavored pure VG nic juice? You could get the strength that matches your nic craving, but it vapes really smooth and soft on the throat. It doesn't have any fancy flavor to it (like fake tobacco or fruit, etc), but it's not unpleasant.

Hi Mike...looks like we're practically neighbors. My location says Springfield, but I'm actually in Ozark. I went to HS in Branson, though.

I'm in the same boat as you. I've been at this forever and read all these 'I got my ecig and never gave cigarettes another thought' posts yet nothing has really clicked for me just yet.

But I do have to second Cloud Wizard's comment. I've got a huge collection of juices - feels like I've tried 'em all and not too long ago I ordered some 48mg unflavored from Wizards Lab which I'm cutting to 24mg w/either PG or VG. Just for fun I also ordered some of their flavoring (couldn't resist dill pickle, although I haven't tried it yet) but I'm adding just a tad of their tobacco flavoring to the unflavored liquid and I like it better than all of the other stuff - for me, I think it's going to come down to the fact that smoking shouldn't taste like dessert / coffee / fruit.

I think a 30ml bottle of 48mg is around $6.00, so compared to the others it's dirt cheap and their flavorings are under $2.00 for a nice size vial.

Most everything is either clear or a pale yellow and comes nicely packaged (the flavorings are in glass and the liquid comes in dark plastic bottles) and it seems to be very high quality. Check around on ECF and you'll find some very good reviews on them.

I just ran across this thread and I see it's been around awhile, so hopefully you've found your nirvana by now, but I don't have time tonight to read through it all tonight, but I'm going to get back to it tomorrow.

In the meantime I just wanted to say hi...haven't seen too many people from our area around here.

Cool! A fellow vaper in my neck of the woods! :D

I am very interested in the price you have on your ejuice as I just dropped a small fortune on 3 new bottles. (75 for the 3)

Regardless, I always chalk up my purchases to a straight across trade over cigarettes. I had no problem destroying my lungs for $500 a month, so why would tossing out a couple hundred a month bother me? In the end it doesn't.

One of the things I am hoping for at the SF2013 gathering is to introduce people to their set up and show them what works for them. The jargon in this community is astounding and tough to get your mind around.

Look forward to meeting you in the future. Thanks for writing, Mike

Thank you - I really struggled with that to be honest with you. Clearly there is an economic issue here involved but to be honest there is a desire to see this work for others as well. Knowing that I could easily pass out a bunch of those "Smoking Everywhere" type eCigs would be good for the weekend but crap for long term. OTOH - a Provari for everyone is definitely out of the equation.

In the end, I myself use the eGo Twist and believe in them to a degree and if I want to see someone succeed as well, I should at a minimum be willing to give my customers the same help as well. The only drawback I have to the eGos are their crap quality for the cartos, but beyond that - I like them plenty.

We will see how the SF2013 gathering goes. If it is a hit, I can do them all year long. If not, I will still do my best to spread the word to our regular business.

Thanks again for writing, Mike

I might suggest to either order in bulk (100 ego batts + 100 cartos or clearomizers), and also check with vendors in your area (or even far away) to share some of the expense by providing a venue for sharing their info/cards, as well as taste testing their eLiquids.

I was an organizer for the Atlanta Vapers Meet (February 18, 2011), and was flabbergasted at the generosity and helpfulness of ALL our vendor sponsors.

Talk to those folks, chew the fat with'em, and see what ideas they might come up with, to help you achieve more than you have yet imagined would be/could be possible. It's a great idea, and I bet somebody would like to share the vision with you!

Actually, the 100/100 thing was already set in stone.

Everything else you mentioned I had not considered.

I just received in a PM from someone asking me if I had reached out to so and so. Honestly, I know nothing about anyone in this community of who to talk to and who to contact.

I also oversee the largest Indian Motorcycle gathering in the nation each May and we have a lot of vendors contact us for the event. I kind of thought it would be pretty much the same thing here.

If you have any suggestions I would very much appreciate a PM with advice. Always best to work with the folks in the know.

Thanks, Mike

I wish you were a little closer to the city. Cheers man good luck with everything - really cool of you to offer a setup per reservation.

:D We aren't that far. I was literally just there a week ago.

Right down 71 to 7 to 13 to 65. Wa-la you are here! :D

I am actually surprised how many are from Missouri on here. Nice to meet you.

If you are organizing a vape meet or gathering, you may want to check the Community section of the forum in the Location Specific thread and post it there, as well as possibly see if there is a listing in your area already posting in the Community :) Good Luck. I started doing vape meets monthly here in South Florida and have been fortunate to have a local vendor sponsor us at each of the meets. The hardest part is finding a location that will not only allow everyone to vape, but also allow someone to sell supplies if you are lucky enough to have a vendor around that will do it. So you are lucky that you have a great location for it right from the start! You can also Google brick and mortar stores or vendors in your area and see if they will help sponsor and possibly donate. :)

Hey Mike,

Awesome thread!

Inspiring too.

I'm a long time 2-3 pack a day smoker. After messing around with e-cigs for a few months I finally got a setup that I'm pretty confident I can quit with.

But, so far it's not easy. It's a lot easier than cold turkey, but I still crave a cig.

I've just quit buying them. So not giving myself many other options than vaping. On the bright side instead of thinking about buying smokes, I'm reading this forum and excited to go try/buy some new juices at the local store that recently opened (Paradise Vapor).

Anyway, congrats on kicking the habit!

Congrats on starting the New Year right! Quitting smoking is tough, I had tried it a million times it seems. I bet you're feeling a ton better too!

It's an amazing thing that you are doing for your patrons. I think if more businesses had that type of attitude towards vaping, life would be so much easier for all of us.

I look forward to the day when I can choose an establishment based on the fact that they are "vape friendly"! I sure do hope that day will come.

I am sorry for being dense but I looked the forums over and could not find the place you were referring to. Could you direct me to a link or something?

Thanks, Mike

I didn't see a Missouri group yet. I think they require you to get some followers together before you start a group listing in the Community. You can contact Classwife probably to get more information. She seems to know alot about that :) It would be nice to see Missouri added! Good Luck! You can also check into adding your event to the calendar of events in here, and search on facebook for other groups in your area that might have a facebook.

I think EGO T stands for "Terrible" EGO is a great battery, and after I replaced the T Tank system with a clearomizer, I really got much more satisfying flavor, throat hit and visible vapor.. I was using one of those 510 small stick batteries with a cartomizer for 6 months, now they taste terrible, I still use them as a back up.

Keep on trying, the desire to get off real cigs has to be a strong presence in your mind. Look in the mirror and tell yourself: "I just dont smoke anymore". I look back now and wonder how I wasted 35 years of my health and wealth smoking tobacco.

Best of Luck!

Yep it is there. They call themselves the ShowMe Vapers or something like that. I have posted it over there and think I will also look to post in the Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas board as well since we have a ton of guests from those locales as well. Geographically we are a lot closer to Tulsa than we are to STL.

Thank you for the advice. Mike

That is one of the things that I am hoping to achieve with this fest in March. Have others see demonstrations of hardware and how it works. There are so many gizmos and gadgets to go along with the jargon it is almost impossible to understand it all. Best advice I received from this forum was "Don't kick the crap out of yourself for having a smoke now and then"

It seems astoundingly simple when I type that, but you cannot imagine the sense of defeat I felt previously when I did. Learning that others also had the audacity to also like the taste of cigarettes was a real eye opener for me. I was no longer alone and didn't feel as wierd as I had before. With that, I began a 6 month journey of cutting and cutting and cutting. Finally got to the point where the eCig won out.

I am happy for people who instantly latch onto them and have immediate success. My journey was not like that. Took a long time and it looks like it is finally over with for me. But, I will be the first to say it was a not too pleasant experience. In the end, it was worth it though.

I was one of those that didn't quit cigs right away. I did not have as hard a time as you did, it took me a month to give them up completely. It really wasn't until I found the Nova that I managed to make the complete switch. Congrats on keeping at it. That is HUGE!

Good luck with everything that is ahead of you. (Your life!) :)

And now the other shoe has dropped....

Yesterday my first high quality clearomizer burnt up and I immediately ordered 5 more with express delivery to be here by Monday at the latest. Being that the set is only 2 weeks old it was completely reasonable to me at least that the 2nd one would last me another 2 weeks or more.

Nope - not to be.

It just died about 1 hour ago.

I know I won't make it through the weekend without tearing something up so I am back to resetting the clock on Monday night to try again.

Really crushed over this latest setback.

So, the eGo Twist is cute and nice and all of that - but is crap (IMO) for quality and durability.

With money not a concern (again, I blew $300 a month on smokes anyways) what is "bullet proof" besides the Pro Vari?

I'm not clear on something. Are you blaming the Joyetech eGo-C Twist (PV/APV/battery/power unit) for the failure of the clearomizer (attachment) that you happened to be using on it? That would be like blaming the car for a flat tire. (?)

Follow-up question: did you ever acquire a single Vivi Nova tank/atty? The Vivi Nova - right out of the box - remains the single best attachment I've ever used.

First I wanna say congrats it sounds like you made the transition. From what I have read it sounds like you had a hard go of it. I too was in the cigarettes taste great camp. I used to look forward to each one and the second hand smell was like being downwind from a steak house. Now I have had one analog since I switched a month and a half ago and to me the taste almost made me wretch. Anyways I wanna say congrats and I really hope you stick with it. It's not an easy road but well worth it.
