Hello everyone,

My wife and I are heavy smokers. I saw a kiosk at the mall a few weeks back about Smoking Everywhere brand e-cigs. I was really curious, went back yesterday, and after $200 plus tax I bought the gold kit which has 2 batteries, 10 filters, and a car charger.

Unfortunetely, I have seen a lot of negative posts about Smoking Everywhere today. I came online because I have one problem with it. I was told(and apprarently others as well) that each filter is about 2 packs of cigarettes. The Smoking Everywhere website says each filter is 1 pack. I honestly, feel that I might get about 5-6 regular cigarettes worth out of a filter. One of the main reasons I bought this e-cig deal was to save on money on cigarettes. Im wondering if anyone who uses the Smoking Everywhere brand maybe found after a few days if the system started to work better for them? I am in my mind trying to give a benefit of the doubt to Smoking Everything thinking that maybe I am smoking too much and not noticing since I dont actually have to put the thing in the ashtray when its done. Or maybe im inhaling too hard. Whatever.

Finally, I would like opinions on the best company and set up to get going if I need to scrap this Smoking Everywhere kit that I bought. My wife and I consistently smoke Parliament Lights, we each smoke about a pack a day.

Hope this all makes sense.

Thanks.

Hi, Xander, and welcome. :)

I've never purchased an e-cig from Smoking Everywhere (SE), but I've been around the forums long enough to tell you with confidence that, no, you're never going to get better than 4-6 cigarettes' worth out of a cartridge (and that's being generous).

I don't know if it will make you feel better or not, but that "lie" is not unique to SE. Moreover, there's really no model of e-cig out there whose cartridge will give you 1 pack's worth of cigarettes. None. Zip. Zero. Nada. Zilch.

One thing that will definitely improve your e-cig experience is ordering some liquid to top off and refill your cartridges. As you've no doubt figured out, the vaping experience is best when you start off with a full cartridge. By the time it gets half used, it's really not even half good. ;) Purchasing liquid will allow you to top off your cartridges so that you can have that "fresh cartridge" feeling every time you pick up your e-cig.

Plenty of places to buy liquid, and if you spend any time on this forum, you'll soon see TONS of information about liquids as well as many other things.

Before getting another model of e-cig, spend some time on the forum reading some of the threads about what other people like and why. Once you get your liquid, you'll no doubt feel better about e-smoking, and that will buy you some time while you make a decision on where to go next.

I forgot to add that you should update your profile to show your location. You might find others in your area who vape and who'd be happy to show you the ropes.

And I didn't mean to punt on your question about which company/model to go with. The thing is that there are as many different opinions on that as there are posters on this forum. :p And truthfully, you're better off to work with what you've got for right now. There is a learning curve to vaping, and by working with your current model, it will give you a better idea of what you like and don't like because ALL models have their pros and cons.

I am still fairly new to all of this stuff as well and I picked up a gold kit from se as my first ecig. I can tell you that the carts are definitely not a packs worth. One thing that I have liked about the SE purchase is that at least where I picked mine up I am able to return any malfunctioning parts to with barely no questions asked. In the first 30days I returned 4 batteries, an atomizer, and a charger. So it has helped me quite a bit as I figured out how to use to all of this stuff. The other thing that was nice was that if I wanted to switch out a pack of carts that I bought for a different flavor I could do that as well. So while I am one of the many who got sucked in by an overpriced SE I really don't regret it. Hope this helps.

Welcome to the forum. Here is a summary of my initial experience with vaping. Some of it may be helpful. Take what is and throw out what isn't. And Julie gave you good advice about research.

I read this forum and looked at older forum threads for two weeks before I purchased my first PV (personal vaporizer).

My first PV was a blue DSE901 from Phil at e-Smokey Treats - Electronic Cigarette's, The healthy alternative to traditional tobacco cigarette's. Phil is a little more expensive than some suppliers but gives you two atomizers instead of just one and provides a phone number where you can call him which most suppliers do not. Like all suppliers, the kit comes with two batteries and a charger. The battery will last about 2-3 hours before needing recharged although some users reported getting 4-5 hours but that has not been my experience. His 901 starter kit is $69.95 where some other suppliers will sell them for $49.95 or $59.95 but without the extra’s that Phil provides. I would consider the DSE901 a good first purchase and it is about the size of a regular 100 cigarette. (If you purchase from Phil at e-smokey-treats.com, when it asks for a coupon code, use esmoking101 and you should get 10% off.)

Many users like the classic penstyle 801 model which has a larger atomizer and cart and a typical battery charge life of about 4 hours. The draw is lighter, more like a straw (to me) due to having 4 holes in the atomizer and the bigger cart. The 801 is larger and looks more like a big pen instead of regular cigarette. You can also purchase a USB pass-through for both the 901 and 801, which allows you to plug into a usb port on your computer or wall socket adapter and not have to worry about changing batteries. You can then purchase a portable battery pack for the usb pass-through such as this one from Kennsington (Kensington - Portable Power Pack for Select Mobile Devices - Black - K38021) and make your usb power portable. Make sure the power pack is at least 1000mAh power output.

Most users want an PV to provide the “throat hit” that is most like a real cigarette (analog as we call them) as well as long battery life. Many members have stated that one of the best ways to get consistent throat hit is to get a manual switch PV that allows you to push a button and heat up the atomizer more before you inhale. One that does that well is the screwdriver (SD) from trog at: - The ScrewDriver - An electronic cigarette that simply works. It is more expensive but it provides long battery life (7-8 hours) and consistent throat hit. Plus replacement batteries cost $2-$3 instead of $15-$20 on the auto switch devices like the 901 and 801 and can be bought anywhere unlike the auto switch batteries. And my experience with trog has been outstanding. I have emailed him many times with questions and he almost always responds any where from 10 minutes to an hour or so. There is also now a US supplier of a PV with a manual switch and big battery, the Prodigy from PureSmoker.com - Your #1 Source For PV's, Parts, & Accessories!. And Steve is providing a 6 month warranty on the Prodigy and puresmoker is well supported by forum members.

Most members recommend that you use e-liquid or e-juice to refill your carts instead of use the prefilled cartridges that come with the starter kits. Plus it is more cost effective. My recommendation (others will differ on this) is to get a little higher nicotine (nic) strength because you can always dilute it with USP glycerin that you can get at a drug store for $5 or $6 if you find it is too strong. I use 24mg nic strength. The highest is 36mg and there is also 18, 11, 6 and 0. There are many different flavors to choose from. My favorite tobacco flavor is Kent from www.eastmall.net - Eastmall International Co.,Ltd. It has a smooth but definite tobacco flavor to me. Others like the stronger flavors such as Camel. You can also reduce the strength over time. Another supplier with a pretty good following is LiquidXpress Hompage.

Hope this helps and good luck.

PS: the smallest bottle of liquid is 10ml and usually costs $9.99. In general (everyone is different) you should get any where from 5-14 days out of that size bottle. In addition, you can wash out the fabric in the pre-filled cartridges and reuse them. The fabric is simply polyester batting which you can get enough for a year's worth for about $5 from Wal-Mart.

PS: Watching Spikey's video should also help:

Hey WV!
I see your ordering from eastmall.... I've had some reservations about ordering from China. Im really nervouse about dumping any amount of money, only to risk having it stopped at customs and losing said money. Your thoughts?
My best,
-VP

I've ordered twice from them with no problems. The packages are small and give no clue as to what is in them, at least not on the package or anywhere I can see. Each time it took exactly 10 days to get to my door. Someone has to be home to sign for them, however or I guess you will have to go to the PO to pick it up. If you are ordering juice and want a smooth tobacco flavor, try their KENT.:)

Absolutely no one has lost an order in Customs except for suppliers who have thousands of dollars tied up. If you're talking about $100 or so, you're safe so far. Customs seizures on the "little guy" is nothing but rumors.

Yeah, you mentioned the kent in your other post. Thats what prompted me to ask about your experience. Also, I've been dripping 555 into my disposable carts. I love the first few drags, but the flavor goes away so fast. The carts dont go dry, its just that the nutty flavor goes away. My wife drips Mint/Menthol (as do I sometimes) and it lasts a good while. I know your not a two peice disposable guy;) but have you any idea?

Vapor Pete - I've been ordering for three months now from eastmall, bestecig and now ruyandirect as well with no problems. All the orders i've placed ranged between $100 and $200. I'm expecting my third order from bestecig which just got released from customs Friday to arrive to my job tomorrow (it's got some liquid and parts).

I will second both of these posts. I have had nearly 20 orders from China. Some with as much as 300ml of juice and $300 in total cost. Never had any customs issues. Just got an order in 5 days from China. Never longer than 12 days...........

I think that happens to almost everyone and seems to occur with most flavors. I get the feeling that some of the menthols seems to just be better made for vaping from a lasting flavor standpoint. I also think our taste buds get saturated to an extent. I also noticed that once the batteries start to lose power the flavor is also less. I only vape three flavors consistently so I may not be a good judge, however.
