If the 401 is the same as a 4081 (cart has a lil white cart inside of it) pull the lil white cart out with tweezers and cut the spring about 2-3 mm from the top fill it up and pop in a peice of polly insert back in the main cart..

An even easier way to remove the white cart on a 4081 is to poke it out with a paperclip pushed in through the little vaping hole. I've also used a drinking straw as a "cart wrench". Use a straw small enough to fit inside the cart, but large enough to fit around the outside of the tiny reservoir cup. Push, Twist, Pull... Out! The tweezers I have are all too wide to fit all the way down to the cup. Before I switched over to a DSE601 pipe, I even made myself a little tool out of a paperclip cut to length and a cartridge plug as a handle. I used it to push the lil cup out flush with the mouth of the cart for easier refilling.
I've been dripping on the pipe almost exclusively for a couple of months now, but this ADM mod has got me curious now I'm going to give it a go for the pipe. PTB showed promise initially, but it was hit or miss with leakage issues. Everyone here seems to be getting such good results it's be a shame not to try it!

working great on 901 2nd try, haah first was straw was good but instantly flooded cuz the fill moved got stuck,, i twist my carts all the time... i guess thats a bad habit lol,

so the spring get 2 from a pen cut in half then unwound at bottom so it stays in cart,, then took half the polyfill and made a lil ball and twisted it into the spring so it cant come out,, so now the fill part is a lil harder but not really,,

took my dental flos pix,, its plastic and pointed on end,, slide that in the side of fill push it over a lil and drip on to the plastic pic and it will drip right into the cart 10 - 12 drops and shes full and the filler isnt coming out..

I like it now,,, thx everyone..

For those of you that might have some old disposable lighters laying around (best to get rid of them anyway so you don't accidently "light" your e-cig like I did, lol), you can remove the metal holder that goes around the striking wheel, pry apart the plastic tabs and remove the wheel. Underneath the flint is a fairly long, very narrow spring (careful when you do this, some tend to fly across the room). I've used these springs for a variety of things, you can also stretch them out a bit to get more use from them. Just a tip :)

This mod is great, although I thought I found a problem

After certain period of time, i wasn't getting the throat hit.

I put it down to a bad polly filler and changed it. I got more throat it.

However Iv found that as you vape more and more, the polly seems to get lower in the cartridge (closer to the spring).

Simply open her up, pull the polly back closer to the atomiser and BANG, same throat hit back again!

Yup.. no way around this every once in a while I take my polly out dry it with a paper towel fluff it back up and its ready to go again.. thats a good thing about polly it pretty reusable if you take care of it..;)

Very interesting!

I tried the vent mod used it for about 2 weeks.
I have used this one for one week now.
Both are awsome and have benefits - and both have drawbacks - but both are most certainly better than plain old cart/stuffing mods.

Now I have to try the straw/greenie thing.

Does it ever stop? I hope not - each idea & trial gives me more respect for all of you!
Thanks SB!

HEY BALLS...

I have to admit I am an atty dripper at home and a cartomizer KR808 user on the go,,, and I really don't like carts....BUT I had to give this a try on my 510... so far so COOL the great part about this I have tons of crappy pens lying around and old carts in a drawer so... this has to be the cheapest and most DIY home project IMO so far.... I never tried the PTB mod because I don't drink tea

I never got around to the screen mod,,,, not easy to get where I am at
I might combine this with some sort of sponge of sorts,,, but right now your mod works for me...

THANKS and mad PROPS

I've been using this for a few days now and I gotta say - it's way better than any other cart mod I've tried. I never had a problem getting all the juice out of my carts thanks to the frayed PTB plug mod, but this works just as well and is much easier to maintain and fill.

I have a feeling I'll be using this for a very long time.
