I got bored and made this just for the hell of it.

The really nice thing about this build, though, it is can either be powered by one of the thousand CR1's I have lying around, or it can run off of USB, simply by plugging it in. Still dont have a pcb for charging the battery that way, though.

Also, if you guys know me as "that guy who only builds ugly things," I probably deserve it by now.

And you just had to use a Red Button.
I think Pipe Bombs are a thing of beauty and now I really want one with a red Button.

You should stencil it`s name on it.

Right... then people don;t need to guess whether to call the police, they just know to because the name is right on it... lol

Good job, just don;t leave the house with it ;)

I am going to make a hand grenade one out of a dummy grenade when I get a chance to and I don;t think I will use in in public.

I think I will just stencil "Does not explode" on it.

I used those PVC parts because the only other option that was pre-threaded at lowes was galvanized steel, and that is way too heavy.

It was actually a pretty bad day for modding yesterday. Lowes didnt have what I was looking for, and Radio Shack was out of the DPDT switches I needed, and didnt have any momentary lighted pushbuttons. I know they are not exactly optimal for buying that kind of stuff, but sometimes you just dont want to wait to have parts shipped. There was one big-time up side to the day, though. Believe it or not, I was given a new drill press. My family gives the best random gifts.

At any rate, this thing will look a lot better once I get around to painting it.

It is a great mod delaney. Looks very sturdy and functional... it is funny that you put the red button on it though.

Oh and be careful about what paint you use, plastic is a pain in the "you know what" to get paint to stick to good. I would get some paint that is made for plastic and when you are done I would put a few coats of clear coat on afterwards. I did this to my cell phone case because it came with that rubbery paint that rubs off eventually and the clearcoat is still going strong and haven;t lost any paint!! Looks better too.

Good Luck!

EDIT: Oh and sand the plastic just a little with some medium grit sand paper to help the paint stick, don't worry about the little marks the sand paper leaves the paint and clear will fill them in just fine... use like 800-1000 grit and just go over it lightly and real quick but try and get almost everywhere.
