I couldn't find all the other threads. sorry. I have now had 3 boxes containing 15 duds in a row. you used to not even have to prime them. obviously they had production issues or cut quality. so now you have to prime them. or you get acrid burnt metal. on top of that some were doa the others quit completely in 5ml or so. dangit! I thought folks were just using them wrong. I have now witnessed this. trust me. I am the self proclaimed bvc king. I normally use about 6-8 a week when they were good! one actually shot fire out of the drip tip! that, is real bad news. glad I was priming it and that was not in my mouth.

I can't speak to the Aspire situation but; this happens all the time in the vaping product cycle.

-company introduces a good/great product
-good/great product gains a critical mass of popularity
-good/great product descends to mediocrity (or worse)

Seems to always happen on the consumables end of the market. I don't know if these companies can't keep up with production demands, cut corners in order to make more $ once their product hits big or some combination of factors. From what I have seen though, once the downward slide in quality starts, it never comes back. It's infuriating and it's one of the main reasons why I rebuild everything.

Ya right thats alot of bvc's back to back. I talked to an aspire rep at my B&M last week and he said the first few runs of bvc's were sketchy and improvements have been made. I'm on the new run of bvc's now 2 in use and 2 weeks old I got them from the rep that day. So far they're fine but then I never ran into any issues with genuine bvc's. The 2 clone minis I got from a friend on the other hand with clone bvc's were inconsistent and couldn't handle any more than 10w.

That's no bueno. Yeah I get about 2 weeks give or take on just one coil and haven't had a serious problem yet. Recently learned you can dry-burn them which I've started doing which has added even more longevity to them for me and rescued 2 or 3 that I'd set aside as 'spent' but hadn't tossed out yet. This makes me wonder if I ought to buy them from my local shop - the extra buck or two seems like a fair trade for having some place to take them back to (and I know they'd be cool about it) if I happen to come across a bad batch. Fingers crossed though, no issues yet.

I'm using the same three heads in rotation since August on a mini. Stopped counting but I must have burned at least 50 mls with each. The flavor a little diminished, but the vapor is better now than when they were brand new.

up until this happened they were great. lasted a long time. then the priming issue came up. then finally I got the three bad boxes. I just opened a fourth box bought a week or so later and seems fine. I guess it was just a bad lot/master carton or whatever. happens. heck even Toyota makes a lemon sometimes. I can't say yet if this is a trend of production dropping off or just a bad run.

I am running the full nautilus with 1.6 bvc's @ 15 watts on an ipv2s at the moment. the other odd thing is if I went down to like ten watts those bad ones wouldn't even fire. I don't know. lost some money but if they stay good it's fine.

If something like this happened to me I would have stopped using them altogether. With Protank 3 heads, the sealed ones perform poorly, one of mine died after the first wash, I have two still going. I bought a third one and it stopped working too.
Don't buy many heads at once. Rule of thumb is to have 3 per clearo in rotation and having 3 in stock. If they fail, they're unreliable. 1 head a week is the medium, I'm happy with 1 month usage. So I don't store many just in case I've had a bad batch. And replace the burnt ones as they burn.
