I agree that every device has its place.

I for one almost went with the eGo/Riva, based on all the feedback here, and I am very glad I didn't. Not because Bloog is the most awesomest thing ever but simply because my wife would have HATED it. She doesn't like fiddly things. Hell, the fact that we have three remotes at the house to watch a movie is a deep annoyance for her. And it is so much easier if both of us are using the same stuff and are mutually compatible.

After our dismal failure using Blu Cigs to start with I was really wary about going with something that was so similar, or at least appeared to be. If we had gone with the most commonly recommended e-cig form then I have no doubt we would have blown a bunch of money and still be smokers.
I know, at least for myself, that my first e-cigarette was a blu because I wanted something that looked like a cigarette. I think for the most part new vapers do. Then as time went on and I learned about all the various types of e-cigarettes and mods I pretty much settled on mods. Mostly for the battery life and the fact that I drip. The reason I bought the Bloog, besides the great reviews I've read, is because when I go out I really don't want to have to carry my GGTB and a bottle of juice with me. Gets too many looks. I much rather have something that resembles a cigarette.

I wasn't bashing others. Just saying they probably aren't the best thing to recommend to someone looking for their first PV. Something like the Bloog is easy to use and more familiar looking.

I did a ton of research before buying my first e-cig equipment (only a month ago), and the overwhelming recommendation here and elsewhere is the eGo/equivalents, and the 510 batteries and a PCC for out-and-about. So, I ordered it all, $140 worth, plus a bunch of juice. I tried cart mods, different attys, different juices, etc.

To use a 510/eGo, you really (in my opinion) have to either use cartos or drip. The carts are a joke, because you have to keep filling them, they leak, they flood attys when too full and starve them when they run out...I never got a satisfactory experience without dripping on a freshly-cleaned atty. So, I developed a routine: charge batteries every night, strictly using the eGo batteries because the 510 batteries last ~45 minutes and die, clean out attys with alcohol, let them dry, and drip on the clean attys. This is nearly impossible while driving, when working, etc. Plus the unit is 'huge' with the eGo battery, making it look like I'm toking a one-hitter. Not good in public.

With the BMF, I carry one complete e-cig, the PCC with the extra battery and two cartos (they are dead simple to fill, and I've yet to have one leak even a single drop of juice), and I'm good for the entire day.

I will not recommend eGo/510 stuff to potential vapers while the BMF is available. I can hand it to a person and know they will get a good vape right off the bat. A new user doesn't want to boil attys and drip juice that gets everywhere. They want a simple system that allows them to quit smoking.
