Looking for something the size and shape of the Icare, but that I can rebuild on. Does such a thing exist. I gave up coil heads a while ago, but really want to have something at work I can just slip in my pocket. I have plenty of e go and ego style stuff, but want to try something new.

I wish you luck but those icare coils are tiny.
I think some have done it but I'm sure it wouldn't be easy.
For the dollar or 2 they cost versus the time and frustration I know I personally would experience, I'd pass.

The industry was built on innovative modders though.
Good luck on your quest. Cheers.

i rebuilt 1 icare coil,, it was actually not too bad/hard. i used rayon,, i did 4 wraps of thin rayon,, i should have done 6 to 8 thin wraps......the flavor was 10000% better,, but leaky. add a few more rayon wraps and it should be fine. the atty doesn't really get 'warm' and that threw me off .. i like a warm vape- so my 2 icares now belong to my neighbor who does like them and she refills with juice i make.

Ordered a couple I cares today. I'll try to rebuild and weigh it against pre made. I'll let you know
The iCare coils really aren't all that difficult to rebuild. Rebuilt with cotton is a huge flavor improvement over the factory coils.

To answer your original question tho. You can do MUCH better than the iCare with just a bit of increase in size. I think you can still find the original version JoyeTech eGrip. Great little 20w VW device and you can get a REAL RBA base for it.

It may take some Googleing but you can almost surely still find the eGrip on some clearance pages.

There is the wistec (sp?) Device that uses pods that you can rebuild. Forgot the name, it's around $30 USD

Now that I'm home... myJET is the device!

theyre less than 4 dollars for five coils. i'd imagine someones time in rebuilding those tiny things is worth more than the 75 cents they cost, not to mention throwing $20-50 at a new device, thats a years supply of coils. i have limited experience but icare coils so far have lasted me 7 days in the icare and going strong. 3 days in the icare mini and also going strong.

I suppose that's one way to look at it if you don't actually enjoy tinkering that way. Then there is also the satisfaction of building a better coil than the factory does. It's worth it to me get exactly the coil I want @ 1.5 ohm instead of 1.1 and get back the flavor that's lost in whatever the wicking junk is in the originals. Think that's kinda what they call the "hobby" aspect of vaping?
