Nicotine relaxes soft muscle like guts.
Smoking is known to be bad for GERD and part of that is the nicotine.
When I quit smoking it got better for a while. I think it got better the times I quit nicotine, but I take 300mg of ranitidine nightly now so it doesn't matter.
Cut nicotine with your sub-Ω or take something to douse the flames.

Could be a reaction to a flavoring.
I have a 'cast iron' stomach, but, vaping dairy type e liquid flavors custards, creams, milks, yogurt, butter makes me feel like I have a rock or cactus in my stomach.
A couple hits per day no problem, 1ml = rock / cactus.

Probably best to talk to a Dr about it if you have or had stomach/gastro issues in the past.

I had to go back to my ego AIO from my sub ohm kit b/c it was killing my stomach. It’s making my GERD flair up when the vapor should be in my lungs not messing with my stomach.

Any tips?
Hola,
Try not to gulp or swallow vapor.
Cheers

What coil resistance and wattage are you running the Invoke with?
I went to 3 mg nic pretty quickly when I got a kanger subtank and that was pretty lightweight for a sub ohm tank. Try some 3 mg nic liquid and see if it helps and you can be happy with it.
Also, sometimes if my wattage is not up high enough I'll get a pretty wet vape and I end up eating more of it that way...

Not to be flippant, but, by inhaling the vapor, not swallowing.

It may be DTL isn't for you, always use what works best for you.
There is no reason you must use a DTL type delivery device unless what works best for you is a wide open non restrictive hard fast deep inhale.
Which doesn't seem to be the case considering you're having unwanted side effects from DTL.

There is still a chance it is caused by a reaction to a flavoring too.
If you're having a Gerd flair up best to seek medical advice and return to a vaping method that doesn't make it worse or trigger it.

That's a very good point. With DTL vaping you are going to get more nicotine and or liquid in your stomach in many situations I would think.

It's harder to swallow smoke than vapor, is the bottom line with GERD I think. My husband has a sensitive stomach and vaping can bother it far more than smoking one reason he's having a hard time transitioning. Your style of inhale may play a role. I would think sub0hm vaping might make it easier to swallow due to the volume of vapor involved.

You might try MTL vaping, you could also try M to Nose vaping-- inhale into your mouth NOT your lungs, and out through your nose. The mucus and sinus membranes are actually rather vast, and also absorb well. You might be able to vape that way and avoid inhalation altogether, although honestly, until you get used to it it may be a bit weird. Merely switching to MTL might be enough, too.

It's possible flavors play a role, but honestly from what I've SEEN, it's more about nic getting down into your stomach and causing gastric upset.

If none of this helps, it may be useful to consult your doctor on the issue and see if you can find a solution.

Best of luck I hope you get it sorted out.

I take meds for my GERD.

It does progress.
I ate a few antacids when I was a kid. I started keeping them by my bed. Before I was out of highschool my mother was getting me the big tubs.
Probably by my 40s I was buying so many tubs I switched to OTC Zantac. Around 49 I got the prescription Zantac as needed. A few years later I started taking them every night.
Eventually I'll probably need surgery to tighten that sphincter the way I'm going.

You could need an adjustment. Even messing around with how you vape and nicotine is only temporary.

I take 2 PPI’s a day, I’m thinking I’m needing surgery.

.6 would be too much for me personally, I kinda chain vape a lot. 15 to 25 mls a day... Oy. 3mg liquid will occasionally make me queasy if I haven't eaten and overdo it.
So, the final question I should have asked with the first one is : what wattage are you using the .3 with 6mg liquid?

Might like to follow:
"6. Heartburn, acid reflux
Some people have reported heartburn / acid reflux symptoms. This reported by those quitting who don't use an ecig, so it seems to be an occasional symptom of quitting. It is reported to go away eventually."

Been vaping a long time and still occasionally go through uncomfortable bouts. I vape 3mg at about 20 watts .67 coils and go through quite a bit of e-liquid daily. I try not to take anything but I keep on hand hard cinnamon candies. Sucking down 1, 2 or even 3 gets me back on track.
