He'll probably get it.

I have to say, the OP is in a somewhat "odd" position given the laws in his state.

I just think he gets upset when he asks his parents to buy some and they say, "No, we're not like your aunt, we bought you a perfectly new nice vape object, and no, you can't borrow the car to visit your auntie."

The OP becomes upset when this occurs, and comes here to post about his ire. I think we are all "parental" representatives, in a way, as we respond. LOL. Although we can say "smoke all you want" no one is going to be sending him a "pity" pack of cigarettes, and we continue to maintain that vaping is "safer, better, whatever." Just exactly like his parents. I think he does this periodically to blow off steam.

You know, OP, there are tons of jobs that pay well in you know, the fishing industry, (seasonal too), oil rigs, etc. Then you might reside in a state where you can purchase cigarettes, and you'll probably have some fellow smokers even, (plus being self sufficient although I'm not sure the OP wants that.

He wants a smoking "enabler." I'm sorry, I don't do that anymore, as I don't smoke anymore.

So, I kind of feel bad for the kid ,but not. Most of all, I am unimpressed with those who are enabling his smoking habit.

But mostly, I feel bad for his PARENTS. OMG, the whining and whatnot almost rivaled my son's into and out of rehab experience. He was over 18, but I was able (using my awesome, prepared ahead methods) to get him from TOTAL crazy (he really overdid something that you really shouldn't) and back to sanity and society but MAN was the whining epic, and BOY was I more than happy to "deposit" him in rehab. I feel so, so bad for his parents (and I had an enabler on board, too, my mother in fact) but I really hope they Stand Their Ground or whatever the saying is.

KUDOS to this kiddo's Parents. LOL.. many prayers in their direction.

OP, come on now. You know what reception you receive what, exactly is this doing for you?

My son smoked - he never once did the whiny crap. He had a job, made his own money, and spent it how he saw fit (after Insurance and car payment etc. )

My kids never got away with begging, they worked their rear ends off at home for free when they lived with me (farmwork) as well as working at a job from the day he was 16 years old.

I don't do pity for anyone, most especially my own flesh and blood and I won't treat anyone else's kid any different.

My kid is 18, still doesn't have a DL (just a learner's permit) and no job. I have pretty much cut off all spending. She gets the proverbial "3 hots and a cot" and I do pay for the cell phone account (primarily b/c it would cost me more if I canceled the line) and if she wants anything else she has to get it herself. Right now she just occasionally babysits for some cash, but it certainly isn't much.

I think I feel more sympathy for the aunt. If the previous threads were true, that poor lady dropped big bucks trying to mimic a "fresh Newport", bought countless vape setups and pod systems for the boy wonder. On top of that, she's tasked with buying his cigarettes too. She definitely drew the Short straw .

I have to admit, I'm reading through this thread and I have never seen such a polite "smackdown" dealt out on the internet.

The best kind of zombie to run into during a zombie apocalypse? One with no teeth.

That, my good sir, just made my day! My point was trying to make the OP relate. He's probably read that and thought "idiot". Now I'm just waiting for the mirror to clear :)

I used ta do a little but a little wouldn't do
So the little got more and more
I just keep tryin' ta get a little better
Said a little better than before

no one is going to be sending him a "pity" pack of cigarettes,
You know, I've got a couple of packs left from the last carton I bought a few days before my first vape kit arrived. That was in December of 2013. I bet they're more crunchy than a freshly opened box of corn flakes. Oh, and they're not Newports, they're Camel Turkish Silver. I wonder if trying to smoke those would convince him that vaping really is better?

You know, based on everything I've ever smoked, Camels wise, LOL it just might. They don't need to be "aged" at all, actually.

Back when I was a smoker, I will freely admit that I judged people based on their smoking habits, e.g. "Marlboro lights smokers can't be trusted," or "Camel Smokers believe in luxury but don't actually understand/recognize it."
"Newports-- please don't shoot me, but do sell me "insert whatever"
etc.

Good times, I miss those days, and probably I was wrong, but I still enjoyed it. I smoked "inject your own" and I would love to call myself "thrifty" but honestly that was all the husband's idea. LOL.

I think I am missing something.....can you please explain everything you said here? I have no idea what you were suggesting. A detailed explanation with a few examples would be much appreciated....:w00t::lol:

If I could go back it would be to age 24. Old enough to do whatever you wanted, smart enough to know what not to do, and resilient enough if you did it too much.

If I was going back in time, it would be to not make the same mistakes... so I'd have to go back MUCH younger than 24..

I'd go back to 13.. change a lot of things.. :)
