I don't understand what a "disposable" e-cig is?

So a disposable e-cigarette... strange concept to me. Is it just, you use it once and toss the battery, atomizer, cart and all? Or do you re-use it a few times and then toss it? Wouldn't it get expensive buying disposables all of the time? Are the batteries not rechargeable? Could someone please enlighten me? And possibly share some positive/negative experiences as well?

Most disposable kits come with a USB charger and the battery should be good for at least a few recharges. They are very cheaply made though, so while you might get lucky and have it work for several weeks, you shouldn't count on it. There are also some truly "disposable" ecigs that don't include a charger at all. The only one like that I've tried is the DSE568, and although it doesn't include a charger, the batteries are in fact rechargeable.

These kits are made to sell cheaply at convenience stores and the like, but they can be useful for someone who isn't sure about ecigs and simply wants to test the waters before ploping down $30-$50 for a proper starter kit.

From what I understand, most disposables can be recharged -- at least a few times -- with the right adapter. Most people I've seen talk about 'em here buy a few to keep in the car glovebox/office desk as an emergency backup for their carried device(s). Not a bad idea if you ask me...

to Sanfordf, kobudo, and candre23. I understand now, thank you for enlightening me haha. I didn't see any point in having one, but it makes sense for a person just getting into vaping to try before they buy with a disposable. And also to keep them as emergency backups. I don't know why that thought didn't enter my brain. I'm assuming the atomizers are made for the specific models and not like a regular 510, 901, 801, etc...?

Extremely informative link, thank you.

We had a few disposable 510 "Q" kits (have a Q on the front of the black kit box) and my wife is still using the atomizers from them, along with her regular Joye 510 attys. We had great life with these and found we could charge the batteries 30-50 times before they went dead. Of course I've read some die much, much faster.
We did not buy these in convenience stores but bought right here from forum vendors. We keep about a half dozen regular and menthol (mint) packs handy to sell to friends or co-workers who express an interest in vaping and e-cigs.

I just bought two for my hurricane bug-out bag. Now we see if I can keep myself from the other good point mentioned - giving them to curious smokers.

I have been using - Hello-Disposable - these for almost a month now. They are like normal, actually better, 510 mega batteries they recharge just fine.

Is it horribly wrong of me to want one so I can cover it in Hello Kitty decals?

What the others told you. I usually have 2 or 3 in my glove box. An emergency menthol for my use in case my regular equipment goes empty or dies and a regular and menthol to sell anyone who gets interested. They're great for that. I too like the Q brand ones along with the Hel-10 style ones. If they are the same price I'd get the Hel-10 ones as the battery is a manual and holds a better charge IMHO.

The Hello 010 is a 510 atomizer and can be used on any 510. It's a good deal (IMO). You get 2 mega batts, 2 510 atties, a few carts and a charger (or you can use any 510 charger) for about $20.00.

The batteries are really, really cheaply made. That's why they say for those that come with a charger only 3 charges. You can get one that isn't that cheap and it'll recharge for 100 or even 200 cycles just like a regular battery. But you can end up with one that will only recharge a half dozen times or less. A bit of a craps shoot but not too chancy.
