Does anyone else ever feel like a traitor when they "stray" from a trusted brand that they like?

Some folks may recognize me from the Halo, eRoll, Vmod, Smokeless Image, Volcano, etc. threads over the last year. I keep trying to find comfort/convenience in only buying ONE brand's vaping gear and juice. So I get really friendly in the sub-forums (and they're all full of AWESOME people), I tell new vapers on the forum how great said products are... and then it never fails, BOOM, I find myself buying some other random 18650 mod, some juice from a website I've never been to, and the whole cycle repeats.

Mind you, I am half-joking when I say this, but I feel like a traitor! As soon as I click the "Place Order" button on another website I feel like I've disappointed my family or something. :p

For example: over the last few months I sold all of my mods and tanks, and have been vaping ONLY Halo products. But tonight I randomly decided to buy a SID, some iClears and I grabbed some Vapor God Arctic Wolf. But now I feel embarrassed to even click on the Halo forum link! Hah, it's like Apple vs. Android over and over again.

Anyone else ever feel this way? (Like I said, I'm only half-serious. I know vapers are in this together as one community, and I love that.)

I remember I got all pumped about a certain glass & steel clearo I got a while back. Typed out it's praises numerous times.... Now I'm posting about avoiding said tank. I get it. My worst feeling was when I went into a different B&M than my fave to get a new tank.

Next time I was in my fave they asked, "Did we sell you that?"

Brave enough for the Wolf, are you? It's STRONG. Definitely menthol. Definitely extreme. Great when you have allergies or a cold, too!

Man, that sounds so good. In the past 4 years I've tried over a hundred juices, and I finally settled on Halo's Sub-Zero. I've vaped nothing but that for the last 8 months, and from reading ECF threads about menthol I've gathered that Arctic Wolf is the only juice that could beat it. I'm ready. *howls*

Vaporgod does have some pretty good juices. Shortly after my Wolf experience I found Pure Vapes, he's now the only one that gets my money for pre-made juices. His stuff is awesome! He makes one called Menthol Bite. I hear, locally, it has a "cult following", lol.

My first four first few juice purchases were from 1. The local tobacco shop 2. A B&M 21 miles away (closest biggest town with a vape shop) 3. Online from crazyvapors.com 4. Vistavapors.com. I usually support my B&M 21 miles away though because they carry my ADV and my two standbys plus they really aren't that outrageously priced on vape equipment.

Perhaps this is all a carryover from the smoking days. I never--ever!--strayed from my brand of cigarettes. Therefore, it stands to reason that I would attempt to switch my unswerving loyalty to another "brand."

I bought my first cig-a-like kit from Smokeless Image a few years back. They're awesome for newbs like me who knew nothing back then.

On the other hand, I've evolved. Now I'm sitting with a kayfun lite + on a stingray clone. I don't really feel bad about moving on and patronizing the retailers that offer me what I need. Other retailers with good products, prices and services will earn my money and SI will continue to serve the newb market.

All is as it should be.

I was like that with a few vendors. I was loyal to SI at one point because it was what I liked at one point. This industry changes so fast though that it is hard to stay with one vendor. It also depends on what you want from your vape. I know a person that has been loyal to SI from when I turned them onto them. He just wants the ciglike experience and something that just works. For him SI fills that need. Now otoh I moved onto box mods then to ego/evods and now I'm on a MVP 2 with the 30s. I get loads of vapor and flavor. With the variety that this industry has you'll probably find yourself going back and forth between vendors. My biggest break was from madvapes when I was into box mods. But when I switched to the evod they didn't carry it. Im usually pretty loyal when it comes to juice. I have been vaping madvape's lionhead and certain top vapor flavors. Mostly because it was local and I like trying flavors before buying because I've got to many duds. Yet now that I have moved across the country I'm considering going to the vape shop here and seeing what they offer. Maybe one day I'll find the set up and juice I can be loyal to lol. If I find a glass tank I like as good as the 30s I'll be jumping again lol.

You may recognize me from the Halo subform :)

I am here to bring your traitorous .... back!!!! :p

Seriously, Halo as far as the hardware, is just like my training wheels into the world of vaping I knew that very early on. Now some of the juices that Halo sells I will be using those for years I suspect.

I will recommend Halo Triton starter kits to anyone who is considering giving up analogs and moving into vaping. Why? Because of the quality of what you get, that it works, exactly as it should from the very begining. That cant be said for a lot of other stick-bat types.

I am sure Cinder and the other people at Halo know that most of us will move on at some point. Although even once I move into something like a Provari-Zatty, I will always fondly remember Halo, refer them to those in the right place to benifit from their product, and still support them even if just by word of mouth.

I think all the juice making companies know they wont please all of the people all of the time, and have a juice to satisfy their customers every taste. I have tried juice from a few companies that try this approach, having every type of VG/PG mix, 100s of different flavors... and compared to a juice company with a focus on just a few great flavors (like Halo or Alice in Vapland or 5 Pawns), they fail.. to deliever any sort of consistancy or quality.

So dont feel like you are a traitor, if your taste or needs change and the current company you are with doesnt have what you need. As someone who has worked in customer service for years though, if you do leave because of a quality issue or customer service complaint, at least let them know and give them the chance to fix it. (another reason I chose Halo as my "gateway" vaping device and juice) great customer service record.

I was a one-brand smoker (Newports) until cigs went over $2 a pack, then I started buying bargain brands. These days, I don't really have any brand loyalty, I'll buy what catches my eye, guilt-free.

But that's just me.

At first I felt kind of guilty, but now, not so much. As one person has already pointed out, this industry is expanding at such an astonishing rate, there are so many new and (hopefully exciting) things to try. Some vendors are going to have things that you want to try, another doesn't, and vice-versa. Any vendor I order from I google extensively before-hand, and if they have a good reputation, I dive right in. The way I see it is this: There are at least 2 vendors I have given hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of business to over the past year and a half. That's a lot of business, at least in my estimation, and I'm sure they were/and are grateful for my business. I may have even made a house payment for the person who owns it, who knows? Besides, even if I do order from a different place from time to time, I still constantly browse the inventory of my two favorite vendors, and if they have something that I want, BOOM, I'm right back. :vapor:

I do sometimes too, not so much with the gear because my needs/wants have drastically changed, but with the liquid vendors I feel this way. But there is just so much out there that I want to still try out flavor wise, and I know it's silly to feel this way to begin with-least I know I'm not the only one.

A local store started selling and they are the reason I started vaping and got off the smokes. They still sell two of my favorite flavors, blueberry cheesecake and banana pudding and I always planned on still buying from them but the last two times I bought e-liquid something has been off about it. Blueberry cheesecake has always been a light amber color the last bottle was a weird army green color. One bottle of banana pudding will be light the next very dark. The color changes make me nervous and I'm leery of using the last bottles I bought. I would really like to keep giving them part of my business but worry about their products now and yeah I feel like a traitor :)
