I was having this issue off and on with my T3 it was giving me this airy plasticy taste ever now and then. I thought ok the coils were dry but no, enough juice, primed. I would set it down, pick it up it was ok, set it down, picked it up airy.
I realized tonight that sometimes I was holding it with the button downward and sometimes up.. when it was up I held the button with my index finger and thumb on the battery. When I held it down my thumb was on the button and my index finger over the bottom ring of the T3.... it hit me like a ton of bricks..I was covering those little air holes. Wow, perfect no more airy dry hits...and one more thing if you take your finger and lift it up and down on that ring when you inhale it gives you an even deeper throat hit.

Some folks will break off the end of a toothpick in the hole to block off the air flow

This works, but I'm with the OP on the carb'ing feature. I do it by pressing on and off of the firing button though. I find that I get even vapor all the way through the hit by using bursts of heat rather than just laying on it. The carb'ing happens naturally since I'm pulling more air and less vapor for a short 1/2 second.
