I sent the Kanthal company an email directly and they said they don't sell anything under a 50LB spool of what I was looking for. So they gave me the name to two other companys that sell smaller amounts. I emailed them they their response

Jeff,

We do have 32 ga. KA1 wire available. We have a stock spool of 4.55 lbs. The price is $63.00/lb plus current metals surcharge of $0.94/lb. There are 6,557 feet per pound of wire (average).

We have a $50.00 minimum per order. In order to meet that minimum, you would need to purchase at least 0.80 lbs of wire. This would require a respool from stock, which carries a $20.00 respool fee due to wire size.

If you buy the stock spool, your cost would be $290.93 plus shipping. If you choose to get the minimum of 0.80 lbs, your cost would be $71.15 plus shipping.

Payment can be made with credit card. We accept MC/VISA/AMEX/DISC cards.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,

Douglas Maxwell

I did the math ~6557ft per pound, .8LBs for 71.15 + shipping
~6557ftX.8lb=~5245.6
I think this is a pretty decent price. I also would never need kanthal again.
What do you think?
I responded asking about shipping to my area.

Yeah,
I went through looking at it the same way and found some great deals in bulk. I just decided I'd never use that much and didn't want to go through the trouble of selling off some of it. If you look through the "some homemade attys and genisis" thread I posted a bulk source or two.

And its 20 cents a foot....where did you get a dollar?

Anyway, I just figured I would post the other link if you decide you don't want to deal with it either.

Well the first time I checked it said 10 25 50 or 100 foot spools.. Then it said ten ft per spool, that's why I said 1$ per foot. I just checked now and it says 50ft per spool. which is far more reasonable. I might actually go this route. Although I am going to be making a couple for friends so it might just be worth buying a life time supply haha.

Thanks OBeer
