I'm kinda scared to try the 1.8.

1.8 Ohms is fine. I use it on mechanicals - 3.7 V on 1.8 ohms gives 2 amps, or 7.4 Watts; right in the zone. A fresh battery on a mechanical is a bit hot with a 1.8 ohm coil though, which is why I try to wind the Cobra coils to about 2 ohms. On a variable volt/power device, not a problem. My Vamo lives on 7.5 watts.

If you keep getting dry hits with the Protank you might need to look at removing one of the wicks.

Agggh. My Vaponly is tasting like burned rubber this morning. Why does that happen?

So, for you who clean stuff meticulously (I'm too fond of Princess P's pitch-it method, myself:oops:), are you dry-burning all the time, or do you sometimes just go with air-drying?

I almost always let my stuff dry naturally. I sometimes help it out a bit with a hairdryer or strategic placement ( near heat vent in wintertime ) but mostly I just let it air dry. I have dry burned just to see what it was all about but decided I'd rather just have enough spares so I wouldn't be in that much of a hurry. Some folks swear by it though.

Oh I don't wash to maintain but open to wash new gear to clean out manufacturing goo. I'm joining haze on give the new kids a bath. When a coil is not working good anymore in the waste bin it goes.

LOL! I love that, that's the best description I've heard in a while!! I might have borrow that one if you don't mind? :D

Cleaning is only as required. I did the Vapeonly on the weekend, and used it all day yesterday. I don't think it's the device. *Everything* tasted like burned rubber this morning.

Woe is me.

Good morning Caterpillars!

I sincerely apologize for teasing you Myrany. You may not have seen it, but I've mentioned a couple of times in posts that I have a learning disorder. It falls under the vast umbrella dyslexia, which is kind of annoying since people think they know what that means, "Oh you get your letters in the wrong order..." Sometimes, but that is probably the least of my difficulties. Anyway, it doesn't matter, I'm an editing fiend (you may notice that almost all of my posts are edited, since I go back and fix them).

I can get frustrated - very frustrated - throw it across the room frustrated, when I can't make something work, but I'm not sensitive about it. I tend to find my blunders amusing - especially where I get a completely different meaning from what someone intended. What bothers me is when people assume I'm joking. I'm stuck having to use the term "dyslexic," since I really don't want to go into a long explanation of various "dys"s, so when someone says "Oh I am too!" when they really mean they screw up words and spelling periodically, it puts me off. Along the lines of someone telling me they are taking Xanax for an Affective Disorder. Sorry Cupcake, come back when you're on a mood stabilizer and we'll talk shop.

Anyway, I made this all about me, which I didn't mean to. I'm sorry Duchess Druid Priestess Dancing Bear, I won't do it again.

I current have a little jar I'm filling with Protank heads. There's probably nothing wrong with them that a good soak won't fix, but I don't feel like it. Perhaps I will do something when the jar is full.

It never occurred to me to wash the Protank before using it - but ocelots aren't domesticated.

Honestly, if I hadn't had that 'experience' I doubt I would have either ...

Just the other day however, I got some new drip tips in and I ALMOST went ahead and used one first before cleaning but didn't. I ended up being REALLY glad that I didn't. You should have seen the mess that had been on the inside of those tips ... turned even soapy water dark!

Not to beat a dead horse or nuttin' ... I was just really shocked that they hadn't even steamed those after machining.

Note to self: pay more attention.
