My luck with batteries just sucks lately!! I am using ego style batteries because I like their size, weight, etc. About a month ago I ordered a kit with 2 900mah bats...it was on sale. 1 bat was DOA. Talked to the vendor and she agreed to send a replacement. The replacement came (1000 mah!) and it worked for 1 week. Called the vendor and she replaced the replacement (FANTASTIC Customer service, BTW!). Because hers were NOT ego, but a clone, I found a great deal elsewhere and ordered 2 more ego bats. Well, they arrived...1 of the bats is an automatic! My order, and the packing slip clearly show that I ordered manual bats. Mistakes happen...but why do they always happen in my "favor"? I can't wait for the day that you can walk/drive around the corner to get parts/liquids/mods...whatever, instead of having to do/trust online sales....sigh.

Truly sorry fer your luck!

I've $pent thou$and$ on line for vaping equipment/supplies and had only three small issues, all of which were quickly remedied. I have spares for spares in case I run into your situation.

I've also saved more in ga$ than the $hipping charges I've incurred!

Better luck in da future!

Local shops are great, but I think since they are A) So few and far between and B) Have more overhead than your online shops you will pay more at these than ordering online.

I lucked out with a shop that opened within 5 miles of my house back in March. There is the good and bad with that. Their juice is way expensive. Some of their cartos and equipment would be about the same price if you order online and add the shipping charges. It's great for a last minute, just have to have something right now type of thing.

A good example of pricing difference is that they are selling the Vivi Nova Tanks for $20.00. I can get it at Hoosiersecig for $12.99, then there is shipping for around $6.00. So, not too bad for the convenience. However, the juice is $25.00 for 30ml which is way high.

Anyway, my :2c:

Well...the idea is to get to having back ups for the back ups....but if 1 of each order is screwy, I am still sliding backwards! My funds are somewhat limited so I can't go huge on parts or juice all at once. If I get a small mod...like a Gripper...can I get the rechargeable bats for those at Radio Shack...or other stores that may be local??

I've never seen any mod batteries that I needed in a local store. Although it's been a few years since I really looked for them in stores. I told Batteries Plus that they are really missing out on a good market. They didn't care. They just shrugged and said that their corporate office decides what is stocked in the stores. :?:

Ok, so this story gets worse...! When I opened the 2 bats I got yesterday, I did notice that the chrome battery end seemed like a darker chrome on the 650mah bat. I have never owned a platinum battery and the room I was in was only lit by my PC screen. I shrugged it off. When I got home from work this morning, I was going to put the bat on to charge. I tapped the button, and it just barely blinked...the light was very weak. I looked at it closer and realized that not only was the chrome dark, but the platinum-colored sleeve looks bubbled and lighter at the top of the battery!! Now I'm afraid to use it or charge it. Makes me wonder if that was a return that was "re-gifted" to me...or if the button was mashed in transit and it maybe burned itself out? AAAGGGHHH!!!!
Dammit!
I have written a second e-mail to that vendor...we shall see how they handle this...I am NOT pleased at all! I know the vendor does not manufacture these, so I won't blame them. Customer Service will tell....

Sounds like you've had a bad run on equipment. I've been purchasing my equipment on-line for 2 years now and only had one issue. Keep in mind any brick & mortar stores pricing will also reflect overhead, cheaper prices could indicate inferior level products, not necessarily better deals.

In a word NO, there have been several serious incidents related to those types of batteries. There are several areas related to APV (advanced personal vaporizers) on the forums as well as several threads related to malfunctions and battery safety;

An excerp of Rolys which talks about not only APV batteries but the appropriate chargers;
Please note that APVs use lithium ion rechargeable batteries, and these batteries must be treated with far more care and respect than ordinary main street rechargeables. In some circumstances they can be dangerous (with incorrect use or mistreatment). Because of this you must not only exercise due diligence but be very careful with them - these batteries should be treated in the same way as a gas cylinder for your barbecue: not to be abused.

•Only use the batteries that come with the APV.
•Only buy batteries from the original vendor or from a source that you are ABSOLUTELY SURE supplies the EXACT batteries for your APV.
•Only use the charger that came with the APV.
•Don't take shortcuts or try to cut costs with these batteries - some people have paid a high price for saving $5.

...And that is why I have never before looked into using them. I'm just really hating the bad luck I'm running into with eGo's and clones. Out of 4 bats ordered...1 worked on arrival! 1 stuck button, replacement for that would not charge, replacement for THAT works. Now these 2...which are actual eGo bats! I'm so frustrated...cigs work fine right out of the box....it's almost tempting enough to go back....

It can be very frustrating when your setup won't work. I fell off the wagon a few times before I found a setup that worked for me. I loved my ego-t but I got frustrated with having to constantly fill the tiny tanks, so I got an ego 18650 mod and I use that with a 5ml DCT and I'm now a very happy vaper.

I'm lucky, I have 2 stores close by, one about 6 blocks away, the other 20 miles away from my house but close to my work and school. Most of the time if one doesn't have what I want the other does. The one close to me is a new store so she is starting to ask her customers what they would like to see her carry so she can expand her inventory to match the customers needs.
