I have a boo-boo on my chuck!

I have been using my UK wildcat chuck for a few months now, and I LOVE it. I have a problem though. I was doing a battery change this afternoon, and when I slid the battery out, a brass screw and 6 peices of clear plastic stuff came out with the battery. Now my poor chuck isnt working. Is this something that maybe I can fix easily? If not, can I send it in to get repaired? I am going to be a mess if I cant do 6 volts for a while!8-o

I think you will need to PM Jeff nad send it back in to be repaired. That screw is the poistive contact in the battery tube and the plastic is insulation.

Sounds like you got one of the rare chucks that have the clear acrylic isolators. This is the second one that I've heard of that did that.
If I remember right Jeff was only using these for a short time.

FYI for other chuck owners...if your chuck has the clear isolator, don't slam your batt into it or this may happen to you.

Ever since I read about the first guy that broke his, I always hold my chuck horizontal and slide the batt in instead of dropping it in (even though mine has the indestructible black isolator).

They are not "indestructable", they are durable....Things can happen to them, although it's rare. But Jeff is excellent about fixing them....so, no worries.

I've had a couple of problems with my chucks also. I sent them back and it was repaired and returned to me immediately. Good service.

Paul, don't do anything drastic. Just send you're chuck in to Jeff, take a deep breath, and relax. It will be in good hands and you'll have it back in no time.

Or at least wait until I can order some blank cartomizers.......
