I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I couldn't find another more applicable section.

Anyway. I make an order with madvapes Wednesday. They take two days to process my order. Okay fine, that's not unreasonable. The information for my order is sent to Fedex Ground early in the day. Does it get picked up Friday? No, or course not. It gets picked up on Monday the 4th. Annoying but fine. The 4th is the first day they had it. It left their first location the same day. Alright. I'm stalking the tracking because I want my package. The first estimated delivery was the 6th. I was stoked, that seemed really fast. The 6th rolls around, it's bumped to the 8th. I'm a little annoyed, but it's alright. I thought I'd get my package today. No! I check the tracking again and the delivery date is bumped to the 9th. What the?! Why even post an estimated delivery date, if it's going to be changed to two days later?

So now, if I get my package on the 9th (which I'm hoping but not going to hold my breath for), Fedex Ground has been shipping my package for 6 days, counting the 4th. Counting the 1st (early in the day, not unreasonable to think that they should have picked up my package sometime that day, at night at least), that's 9 days! Because Fedex Ground does ship on weekends, just not deliver.

Now I'm starting to get a bit miffed. I paid for Fedex, about twice as much as I would for standard USPS shipping. I did that, so I would get my package with Fedex, before USPS would have delivered it. Now, I'm starting to think USPS would have gotten it here sooner. So I'm waiting and waiting and waiting. I'm not happy. And it's June, so it's not like bad weather could be to blame.

Uhhhhh Fedex Ground, never again.

Well, if your order didn't get sent to Fed Ex for pickup before the drivers left for their route on Friday morning and they usually leave EARLY, then it's understandable that they couldn't pick it up that day (the drivers leave with pre determined routes). Then when they pick it up it goes to the warehouse for processing and usually leaves the in the evening of the next morning. So technically it has only been in route since the 4th-5th (4-5 days). Also you have to consider that the item shipped from NC to CA from one end of the U.S. to the other.

You should never have paid extra for Fedex. Priority mail makes it coast to coast in 2 to 3 days, excluding weekends. And you've even got a chance for USPS delivery on Saturday. Not so with Fedex.

And if a signature is required and you're not home, Fedex makes it seem like they want you to drive 20 miles to their office and pick it up. UPS is not as bad that way.

I have a mail order business and use UPS. The only reason I do is because they will come pick up your packages for a reasonable price, unlike USPS. Other than that, I'd ship everything USPS, especially light shipments like E cigarettes.

I would stick with USPS. I paid for Priority shipping from CA to FL on Sunday night. Apollo had my order processed and ready to be picked up by the end of the day on Monday.

I am pretty impatient and I was checking the tracking constantly! lol

My package made it to my local post office on Wednesday morning. Unfortunately it was after the delivery drivers left for their routes so it did not make it onto a truck that day. However, it was at my door at 1:30pm on Thursday.

Not too bad for cross country IMO.

They picked it up on the 4th. If then get it to me by the 9th, that's still 6 days. When they say they "do their best" to get it across the country within 5 days, they should hold to that. It's not my concern how they choose to run their company. The shipping information was sent out on the 1st, Fedex could have picked up the package as early in the morning as they wanted. That information should have been processed and ready to go. My concern is getting what I paid for. I paid almost $8 for shipping. Twice (more than, I believe) the USPS price. My package didn't even leave the state for more than 15 hours. That's more than half a day.

Like I said, never again. To me, that's not reasonable. I have used, have been happy with, and will continue to use Fedex Express 2 day, unless/until I feel that their services are not worth the money. But Ground? Never again.

And to be clear, this isn't my first gripe with Fedex Ground. It's been three strikes. First time they lost my package. Second time their driver threw my package on the cement....I heard it hit the ground through the door, without even ringing the doorbell and I was clearing inside the house, she clearly saw me get up to answer the door. Big bay windows, couch directly in view. The package was a cell phone -_-. And now this. Just....never again.

I sell stuff for a motorcycle dealership on Ebay and try to use USPS whenever possible. They're the quickest and most reliable in my experience (over 8,000 packages shipped). I only use UPS if it's a larger package and using USPS isn't worth the price. The only time I use FedEx is if the customer requests it and already has an account with them that gets charged. UPS wins hands down when it comes to tracking though.

Remember, weekends don't count when it comes to delivery time. It's always X amount of business days for something to be delivered. Just because a service costs more it doesn't mean it will get to you any faster. Depending where you live USPS First Class mail can be just as fast as Priority. BTW, Woot uses FedEx Smart Post which goes through the post office and it's the slowest delivery I've ever come across. It generally takes about a week for something to get to me from their warehouse in TX to CA.

And you know, I could understand it not showing up until Monday, because Ground doesn't typically deliver on Saturday. What grinds my gears is that I'm quotes for Tuesday. The package is in Sacramento right now. They need two days to get it ~160 miles? What? It's only a 3 hour drive. And you know, the entirely ridiculous delivery date I had until about half an hour ago.

Fed Ex doesn't deliver on the weekends unless requested and probably with an extra fee. It probably left the shipping facility Late Mon night or Early Tues morning. So only 4 business days in transit, not the 6 you keep saying. I am not vouching for Fed Ex though, just crunching the numbers.

Every day they have it, is a day in my book. Especially since they got the shipping info the previous Friday. That's a great many days to plan out the pick up. Not exactly a last minute rush there. But let's just go with what you're saying. Fine the 4th doesn't count. My estimated delivery is the 12th. That's still 6 days. I'm annoyed I have to wait even longer for my package. I'm annoyed my date keeps changing. This is not good customer service. The very least they could do is give a more accurate date, or at least not mark my shipment as on time, when it's clearly not on schedule with what they cal "typical" delivery times.
