I AM old enough to have seen the WHO live at the Mississippi River Festival. Loudest damn thing I ever heard at that point...worse since, though.Fond memories there.
It was the largest crowd there ever. SRO on about a five acre site! Them was the days...
Never saw them live, but they did enhance many a party back in the day. To this day would rather party in a field than a club. These days I do go home much earlier.

I was at the big riot when guns and roses opened for metallica.. it was so bad (not metallica they were awesome.. it was the whole riot thing and of course the first mosh pit ever) I never went to another concert again until my kids wanted to go and needed escort for their safety..
Sigh.. I bet the who was much more laid back.. lol.
It was cool again by the time the kids were going - all the parents my age were taking their kids so i never felt weird going. And of course by then the mosh pits were organised..
