if you've successfully made the transition to e-cigs and no longer smoke cigarettes, do you still have your ashtrays???

i kinda collect them! and i think i will continue to do so even if e-cigs work for me! i really like the ones i have, some really interesting ones i received as gifts or that i bought while on vacation.

it's kind of a pointless question, i know! but i'm genuinely curious! or if you haven't made the transition completely yet, do you PLAN to keep them??????

Good question, and your right...some of our ashtrays (crystal or unique design) have intrinsic value.

When I was a smoker, I found that I gravitated towards other smokers as friends. They still smoke, I still supply the ashtray when they come over.

It amazes me that I can watch them smoke and not even care or crave.

Most all of my friends are smokers. We have this weekly wednesday night poker game that we have had going on 6 or 7 years now with the same 15 or 16 guys(most of us have been friends since highschool). We always play out in the garage so that all the guys that smoke can smoke(even though the two brothers that own the house smoke, they don't smoke in the house). During the winter we have the door shut with heaters going, and the smoke gets really thick, but it no longer bothers me as long as i have my ego-t with me. They even let me vape in their house. A few of the guys have tried it but they just are not willing to commit.

I have several 'special' ashtrays which I'll never part with. They're decades old and were used by my father, who died more than 20 years ago. One of them is my age, acquired in Okinawa when I was born. Not really a collection, just a sentimental attachment to them. I see no need to hold onto the ones I've acquired ... though I haven't gotten rid of them yet.

I was primarily a pipe smoker for many years before I started on analogs. All of my ashtrays are homemade pipe ashtrays, so I will be keeping them. I will occasionally fire up a pipe just for relaxing, and I have quite a bit of very good tobacco aging in my cellar (which may end up paying for my retirement if times get tight). The tobacco I smoked was (is) a very good Virginia/Perique blend which ages very well. Right now I could sell off the tobacco for 2 to 3 times the price I paid for it before aging.

The ashtrays that were only for analogs were pitched long ago.

As a smoker a used depression glass ashtrays because thats what I like, so yes they are still around the house for my enjoyment. Some have made it to the display cabinet due to age and me not wanting them damaged. The depression glass days there were also cig holders that sat with the ashtrays so have acquired some of them so its all collectables now!!!LOL

I kept my ashtrays and lighters but I'm not sure where the ashtrays got put. I only had one cool one anyway. The lighters are in a drawer in my jewelry box because seeing them give me the urge to light something (I suspect I may have pyromaniac tendencies;);)

Still got the lighters- I put one in each desk drawer, one in each kitchen drawer, cause you just never know when you'll need to light something. There's always one close by. Gave the rest to my wife, and she keeps them with her incense and candles. (She quit smoking years ago- just up and stopped one day. She is perhaps the most willful ..... I've ever met in that respect. And others. )

Only have one ashtray, but I'm keeping it. Somehow, it doesn't feel right to smoke (vape) without one. When I go to bars, I ask for an ashtray on the table or bar to keep my 510 in.

Best,
Ande

me too I have 2 large ashtrays on my coffee table one is for guests and the other is full of 6ml and 3 ml bottles for quick flavor changes

This is a great idea. My husband still smokes, so he has his ashtray by his chair. I think it's a great idea to keep an ashtray with a couple of bottles for topping, tweezers, etc. by my chair.
