Just bought a brand new Janty V2. It came with empty cartridges (have fiber, no liquid that I can see). So I dropped, oh... 5 or 6 drops into the cartridge. Plugged it into the atty, put it into the main body, and...

Holy crap, I can NOT take a big puff and pull it in, it's like hot sandpaper in my throat and lungs. I have been smoking a pack and a half a day of unfiltered full flavor analogs for a while, so I'm used to strong smoke.

So, what am I doing wrong?

There is a pop or hiss every time I turn on the battery. I'm not sure that this is normal. I must have done SOMETHING wrong.

Did I put too much juice in? Should I let it dry? I did notice that the atty was touching the fiber from the cartridge... could that be what's overheating the vape?

you will need to break in some attys. there is a bad taste associated with this. dont try and inhale it. just take several big drags and blow it out. It will probably take more than a few drags to get rid of the bad taste that comes off the new atty.

You might have a little too much juice is what you are hearing gurgling sound or hissing.

It wont hurt anything.

Take your atomizer out, roll up a paper towel and work it in to the atomizer, and blow several times through the other end, where the battery connects. This will help blow out the excess primer fluid. Repeat this until the paper towel comes out nice and clean.

Next, reinstall the atomizer in to the JS, and drop two drops of juice directly on to the atomize bridge. Hold the JS upright (vertically) for a minute or two and allow the juice to soak in.

Pull the cart filler out of your cart and drip 7-10 drops directly in to the cart. Reinsert the filler material. Start dripping drops on to the top of the cart filler, and continue to do so until you see the juice start to pool at the top and not soak in. Take your paper towel and dab the cart filler to get off any excess. Install the cart in to the atomizer.

Now, activate the JS for a second or two and draw the vapor in to your mouth for a few seconds, but don't inhale. Repeat this a few times. Now try slowly drawing on the JS for 3-4 seconds, and this time try a little inhale. It should be a lot more tolerable. If it is, start vaping away and do a little testing to see how hard you need to draw, for how long, etc.

Good luck! I couldn't live without my JS!!

Personally I use the tobacco type flavors as I dont like the sweet stuff too much.
Like the 666, flue cured tobaccos, etc

I do have some cinnamon that is good too when I want soemthing sweeter...

The 801 atty takes a little practice on how much juice to put in your carts.

There are lots of flavors. Each person is so different. You have to experiment to see what you like best. Its a lot of trial and error. Your juice might taste better after your atty breaks in and you rid it of thr primer taste..

First of all, can't wait till I can take the 20 mile move up to Austin. Second, wow... this is a great response, I will do this immediately.

Thanks so much everyone. This is a great community, and I'm looking forward to being able to only vape.

Do you hear a gurgling noise when you draw on it? If so, you might not have hit the bridge when you dripped, and flooded it. If it is, try blowing it out again. Also, with the atomizer in the JS but no cart, hit the button. Do you hear any sizzling or see the slightest amount of vapor produced? Lastly, the JS is notorius for being hard to install the atomizer; Some users even have to use pliers to tighten their atomizers down. I've had good luck with just pressing down firmly with downward pressure where the cart meets the atomizer and turning it.

Sorry for your frustration. One thing about vaping, it's not as easy as just opening a pack and lighting one! The JS has it's own set of complications too, so you might be fighting that on top of the initial learning curve. Sorry for the troubles so late tonight!
