Don't bother submitting your request before your post count is over 20 as the application will be automatically rejected. The moderator who processes the submissions usually does them on the weekend.

Yes you need 20 posts. But then it's a manually process and can take anywhere from a day or so to a week. It all depends.

At some number of posts, I don't know what that number may be, you will find that you are no longer able to begin a thread in the new-members-forum, but can only reply here, and must go to the big boys deep pool to start a new thread. I was scratching my head and looking for the 'start new thread' button for some time until I worked that one out.

At the same time - be careful here. If you want to get on the bad side of the ECF moderators really quick people put up junk posts just to increase their post count. It's called spamming for post count and will only get you a warning, the junk posts deleted, and your post count dropping right back down again.

It's really not that hard - no matter how new you are you have already figured out things that someone else needs help with. There can always be relevant things found to post about.
