ok something has honestly been on my mind... and for whatever reason its totally screwing with me!

so... I started E-Cigs to quit smoking TOTALY. Not quit Nic just smoke, lets get that straight...

SO i had been doing VERY well and not had a smoke ALL month... until my carts ran out... and i had no juice... and i was at work... stressed.... my partner had a cigarette.... and i took one... and i used it...

(Note: I ordered Carts but for whatever reason they took FOREVER to get to me)

NOW... i know i failed myself...

but .. i mean. when i tell people that i've been smoke free, im a lier now right? does that little slip really mean my clock has to start all over? Instead of being smoke free for a month am i now smoke free for 3 days?

This might be stupid but seriously, since I've really tried to get off Cigarettes this has messed me up...

I quit smoking in February 2009 and started using e-cigs. Heck, i even quit e-cigs for a few months by pure accident (weird huh?). Anyways, I have had maybe 15 cigarettes over the past year (every once in a while just had one to see if I truly hated them, like most of us do at least once). I would never smoke again, even if the PV suddenly disappeared. I know that now! So, you had one cigarette...doesn't mean you started smoking again. I proudly say I quit in February...I don't feel I am lying to myself at all! I have NOT had a cigarette for at least 8 months...but I quit smoking a year ago. I guess it's kind of a weird way of putting it... You did NOT fail yourself! You had a cigarette. You are essentially an addict...addicted to nicotine. So, you fell back on a crutch because you needed something...we all do it! The point is, you are trying to change your life, and you are being VERY successful at doing it. Congratulations at having quit a month ago! I'm proud of you!

Nope, one cigarette when you pretty much had no choice is nothing when you consider how long you already went without one. Forget about it, really. What you might want to do is grab a tin of Camel Snus from your local store and keep it handy in your car or truck just in case. They are made to be very mild so that you can swallow the juice and it can easily get you through a craving.

No biggy, really. You should continue to be proud of your success so far and just let it go at that.

Look at it like this........

If you smoked 10 a day when you smoked cigs. Over a month, that is 310 cigs a month. So in a matter of 31 days, you went from 310 cigarettes to 1 cigarette. I wouldn't say you have failed...........just mearly cut yourself down by 309 smokes a month. If you can't see that as a success, then you are WAY to hard on yourself.

Next time just be a lil more prepaired..........then you can say "I went from 310 smokes a month to None" and not have to beat yourself up.

It's all good.........

Gamer i mean. when i tell people that i've been smoke free, im a lier now right?

Yes. You could just tell them that you had quit and... etc. the situation.

does that little slip really mean my clock has to start all over?

You can't fool reality and when you attempt to, it doesn't feel good. Don't let the 'school of false self-esteem' people tell you otherwise. It's BS.

Instead of being smoke free for a month am i now smoke free for 3 days?

You got that right. I could have never went three days just 8 months ago.

This might be stupid but seriously, since I've really tried to get off Cigarettes this has messed me up...

Addictions will do that. In the same way that you used to make sure you'd never go without a cigarette, make sure you'll never go without a battery, atomizer or ejuice.

Just out of curiousity, how did it taste? I tried one after my first month of vaping and it was horrible, plus it stunk(stank?). Haven't had another one since. Not a failure, just reinforcement on some of the reasons you quit.;) Hang in there.

Tasted just like my ecig just without the nice throat hit i had been getting... i actually didn't enjoy it much, I got my Nic fix for about 30min and was so disgusted with myself i just went cold turkey till the next day (i wasn't the nicest person on earth that night)

The next day i could actually still smell it on my clothes. I did not enjoy the smell and neither did my friends when they ... smelt? what i had done... :(

also after smoking it i was tired. My lungs got real heavy and i just wanted to sit. it felt like i had gone running or something.

I must say, I did NOT enjoy it like i thought I would of. The only thing that made it good was it steadied my hand for a bit.

I made sure to get some juice and to make sure that it NEVER happens again.

WHen you were a smoker and out of smokes I bet that wasn't the worst thing you ever did to get a fix of nic now was it?
Ever rummaged in the ashtray for one with 'just a bit left to smoke on'? How about the trash can?
It's not a big deal that you had one unless you make it into one, tbh. And you hated it.
Don't do the guilt thing, it'll make you want to smoke :)

I quit the end of October...and the middle of NOvember my son was in the house smoking a cigarette and i said..lemme have that. I took about 3 drags off of it...it tasted terrible.... That was my " slip".

I still say I quit in October...one slip does not make a fall :)

Dont beat yourself up over it. It happens to alot here. Just shrug your shoulders and vape on.

Ouch, I did chew ONCE, it was wintergreen flavor, i was about 14, I didn't spit, I'm 35 now and even the smell of wintergreen makes me nauseous.

Think of it this way... perhaps your goal shouldn't be to never allow an analogue to touch your lips... instead, your goal is to never allow analogues to control your life again... and you are well on the way to that.

I say your clock does not start all over again.

I can also relate. I NEED my order to arrive today. Today is my 9th day analogue free.
All I have are a small spattering of 11's and 18mg carts... (THEY DO NOT DO THE TRICK... I need 36 and 24 at this point)
I have three orders in... made Sat, Sun and Tues... I am praying for at least one to arrive today...)
If not, I may have to light up... and if I do, I will forgive myself... and I will not start my clock over.
Just like 420smiles said...
9 days... that's 25 cigarettes a day avoided... 225!

Remember how quitting once seemed impossible? Now it really isn't so hard... it feels more like a choice between Pepsi or Coke. Before e-cigs came to be, it felt like a choice between heaven and hell... or Filet Mignon or starvation... or Bambi or Godzilla ;-)
