What I found interesting is that this is new technology for us, different power source and method of making vapour. It's probably not my cup of tea but it could be a new direction for vaping, especially if it's more durable than current technologies.

Could clogging atomisers be a thing of the past?

I don't know Tribble, all I've seen is the two links above but I guess it heats the herbs for vapour rather than using combustion to make smoke.

Fantastic find, Kate. A Janty on steroids!

This is kind of like my Holy Grail. No atomizer. No carts. I already have butane for my pipe lighters. And this can even vaporize tobacco, so I could use the pipe tobacco soaked in glycerine for an experiment with the e-cig. His home brew demonstration was impressive.

Only the price halts me from ordering one right now. Thanks for posting this. I hope someone in the UK buys one and we get more opinions. I see this surviving bans that will stop e-cigs in their tracks. This one is truly multi-purpose.

Yes new technology is a step in the right direction. :)

It is big and bulky, but it looks powerful. I also like the idea of being able to use herbs in it. :p Does it burn the herbs to make traditional smoke (bad), or does it just heat it up to make a non-smoke vapor (good). That is the one part I did get from the demo video.

It's definitely a vapouriser, they are being sold in head shops as well. I think the little metal rod he takes out at the start would be used to hold the material you're going to vape.

As far as liquid goes would this be safe? This runs at a constant 190 degrees and I seem to remember there was a thread a while back about glycerine turning into something nasty at a certain constant temperature. I might have imagined that though or got confused

It looks interesting to me. Vaping leaf tobacco wouldn't be as healthy as e-smoking, but better than hot smoking it.

You probably could vape e-liquid in it by soaking the same filter wool we use in the cartridges and popping that in the chamber.

I'm going to see if they're interested in a review. E-cigs aren't for everyone after all.

Of course, I would never even THINK of using it for anything other than tobacco. ;)

looks interesting...still seems to clumsy and powerful to be truly pocketable...looking at the schematics of it looks like there is room for it to be smaller in places... also i wonder if you could cut down the running time and make it smaller..a smaller butane resevoir etc.

get this to the size of a cigar and you get my business hands down...i wish i had the cash to buy this try it out and take it apart to see what could be improved or changed...

anyone know if there is anyone else doing anything like this? even if it is bigger?

That is interesting. It is a combustible since it uses butane. Would not be confused whether it was a cig or not. Great find Kate!

No, the butane is used to heat the airflow, and the hot air passing over/through the leaf vaporizes the active ingredients right out. I have seen and used similar type devices, but none this small.

I was just saying that because it contains butane. Which would keep it from being able to be in the passenger compartment of an aircraft.

It's hard to judge, but it looks palm sized, that's not too bad. Great for herbal vaporizer.

I havent seen a butane powered one before, but there are a couple electric portables that are similar. Not as small, though, and around $400 brand new.
