I don't have nor have ever used a kick, but I do own a K100 and can say that I really don't feel the need to get one. I do have a vamo that has VV/VW so I get the idea behind the kick (which as I understand makes a mech VW) but I think it works just fine with LR carto's and other devices. If it seems weak to you, you might consider a kick or rebuildables. I don't do sub ohm coils (I like to stay around 1.1 to 1.2) but that extra little bit lower than "standard" LR can help. Just make sure any way you go to have decent batteries.

If you don't rebuild then you might not be all that happy with the results. At least I'm not. Me personally, I'd either kick it to get decent performance from LR attys and cartos or Id rebuild. An Igo, some 30g and cotton for the wick could probably be bought for less then a kick as well. I use a kick for battery drop.

I agree - get the kick if you're not making your own coils. But - making your own coils can be really easy. I have been making wicks and coils for my ProTank at right around 1.1ohms and it's just awesome on a mechanical.

BTW - I'm not sure what kind of batteries you ordered from Fasttech - but if they are not IMR then I would say definitely get a kick and don't try rebuildables until you get some good IMR batteries.

Even if you do start rebuilding a kick is nice, it takes a while to get your set up dialed in and get to the point where your really satisfied with your end product. In the mean time your kick will be there to smooth out the learning curve by letting you adjust it to the coil you wrapped and not having to start over.

You could just throw a LR Bridgeless atty on there and you'd have a great vape but, I'd suggest getting a silica atty like the IGO-L, S, or W to start playing with, you should also get a multimeter you can get one for about $20. After that pick up the AGA-T it works great on the K-100. Watch some videos and have some fun with it. If your not up for all that and you want to throw a carto/clearomizer on it I'd get the kick.
