Ive got a iHybrid, a Bliss had a Z-Atty pro, a LineV2 and all genesis rebuidables.. Have spent tons of money on them but for some reason.....

A FREKIN $2 CAROMIZER IN A tank JUST TASTES BETTER AND HAS A BETTER DRAW...

Still havent tried an oddy or a penelope which i have a Penelope coming... But beyond that.. Im probably just going to dump all this high end stuff and stick to my provari in 18490 mode with a 1.5 ohm dual coil carto in a SS DCT...

If i could eliminate the flooding in cartos id be set..

I know some will say that OH YOU JUST DIDNT DO IT RIGHT!! but believe me I have TONS of experience rolling SS Mesh wicks.. oxodizing them and wrapping coils.. I can throw a dual wick 1.7 ohm dual coil setup on my bliss in 5 minutes from scratch with no hotspots.. and i do LIKE it..

But for me.. and we all know this is all subjective.. a $2 DC Carto in a $10 DCTank just works best for me..

Why is this lol.. as the title says.. I just cant understand..

intersting....

I tried all kinds of cartomizers and carto-tanks and could never get one to my liking and up til recently have been a faithful dripper.

I couldn't get my self to pull the trigger on some of those high end atomizers for one reason, it just didn't sound like it could possibly be worth it to have a tank down below and have yer juice fight gravity to get up a wick and coil. Maybe this was the bad taste in my mouth (no pun) from all the trouble clearomizers gave me years ago.

Then I discovered the G-Tank-US. What a concept, tank above the wick and coil and more efficiently using gravity and suction to keep a wick wet. I've never been happier with my flavor, TH and vapor.

To be clear, I don't have any true "genesis -style" atomizers so I can't comment fully on how much better or worse they perform but it just somehow seems to me that it would be harder to get right. But hey, thousands and thousands of DID and Line users can't be wrong I guess.

Dunno if any of this helps but who knows, see you on the other side....

Im with ay on clearomizers.. I hate them.. (except i do break out a ce3 from time to time) but only bottom feeding.. I actually havent tried a g-tank.. and my biggest problem with genesis atomizers is the tank at the bottom also.. Tiping and tilting .. messy from time to time to time.. but i could deal with that.. For me.. I just dont like them.. its all preference in this game.. and we all like different things..

I had been thinking.. Man if someone just FLIPPED this concept.. it think it would be great..

Like mashing up a Ce3 bottom coil with a genesis tank.. which is what the g-tank KINDA appears to do.. So im going to give the penelope a go..

Then try a g-tank just to know what its all about..

and at the end of the day. If i end up just being a carto guy.. Thats ok... If a $2 carto on my provari in a $10 tank keeps me off cigarettes better then a $200 repairable atomizer or $300 mechanical mod.. Hey mission accomplished..

some cheapish G-tanks on the for sales right now:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/sale-trade/331311-us-fs-2-original-gtanks.html

dunno how you did yer wicks but when I went to a cotton-wrapped wick the the coil ( Blugrasslover method) oh buddy, the wicking and flavor came alive and all was right with the world.

I know some local people that are just like you, they've tried a bunch of stuff but they simply have their cart holes and stuff down so perfect that it just plain werks!! I tried and tried but could never get as good a performance as dripping. I lolok at my G-Tank as dripping style taste and vapor with the added functionality of a tank but again, that's just me.

I wanted to like the carto tanks, but I couldn't seem to get the flooding and leaking thing under control. I could use it, set it down and come back in 15 minutes with liquid in the battery connection and oozing down the side of my PV. I used pre-punched cartos and some I punched or slotted. Could not get it to function properly. I only used SmokTech, may be I should have tried Boge, but there were a bunch of issues when I was in that phase.

i feel ya ckonoe 180.. So far.. My favorite carto is the 3punch ones that hoosier sells.. Slotting is doomed for flooding in my case cause i use thinner liquids.. but even a single hole pre-punch works great for me.. Of course theres always some flooding but i have always been pretty good at wrangling a flooded carto in. Its just odd.. for me.. I would think id LOVE a much more expensive and much more well reviewed product like genesis atomizers.. but its all subjective.. The purpose of the thread was to show the irony of vaping.. Everyone likes something different.. we all like what we like..

Sometimes the simple things just work. I do think it is crazy the amount of money some people spend on a fairly simple device, especially if it involves a fairly steep learning curve.

I have tried so many devices, and while they all seem to have their positives, I still find myself going to the carto tank setup for the reasons you stated. It is just an all-around good performer, especially considering the price and time aspects.

Good luck with your new device. Just remember, if it works, great, if not that carto setup will be right there waiting for you.

Hmm... ok just to point out a few things I guess, flavor and vapor production are dependent on how airy your draw is, at least to my experience, and I've heard some Z Attys having too much air flow? That might be why, I have an Odysseus and I set it dead flush on my provari because the V2 comes with 2 indented linings at the bottom which runs through the drip well and provides air flow, in doing that I get a sortof medium draw, kindof the draw you get from smoking an analog somewhat, and the flavor/vapor has been amazing for me, at first I opened it all the way and the draw was way too airy, vapor was diminished and so was the flavor, just my thoughts on it but a more compressed draw, would give you a better flavor, since it's compressed and all that vapor is going into your mouth at once. With that being said, my Odysseus has not disappointed me at any level whatsoever, just my thoughts.

I'm in the same boat as you. It also eats up a lot of electricity since you have to fire the thing for a longer period of time to get a decent hit. For now, carto and tank for me. Slightly better than that is the Vivi Nova.

I haven't had a flooding with Boge cartos yet. I wish I can say that about the Smoktech cartos.

Ive got a iHybrid, a Bliss had a Z-Atty pro, a LineV2 and all genesis rebuidables.. Have spent tons of money on them but for some reason.....

Jett.. I agree i traded away my zatty pro because it was to airy of a draw. The bliss to me is a better preformer due to the tighter draw and using a dual coil and wick setup.. BUT that being said.. Single wick.. dual wick.. curved wick.. Tied them all.. and FOR ME.. a carto is just better.. Hoping to have a better experience with the penelope i just bought..

I have about 20 smoketech 3 hole prepunched cartos after i get through them im going to give boges a try.. Unlike most people i generally throw a carto after about 4 days of actual use and keep a carto for each of my 5-6 flavors and i generally vape 2 4ml tanks a day and i change flavors when i fill up the second time.. At $1.75 or so a piece i see no reason to use them after they get even the slightest bit stiff or changed.. considering i was spending 12 bucks a DAY Smoking analogs.. it seems to reason that there no reason to stretch them out.. I do hope the penelope is a better experience for me.. i am pretty solid on the fact that genesises arent for me. (although the bliss isnt BAD.. i do much prefer it over the zen stuff because of the stiffer draw)

Right now is a perfect example.. I have 2 new wicks and 2 new coils 1.6 ohms each (and when i say new i mean 2 tanks through them to have them good and broken in) of the same liquid.. Alice in vapeland Cupcake City.. Bliss in the left and.. 1.5 dual coil carto in the right. and i just like the carto better..

I agree, haven't found better yet. I love my triple v pyrex and polypro tanks. Aside from losing a pyrex tank to the weight of a provari and a tumble to the tile, perfect. Single coil 3 ohm here. When I replace the cartos after a couple tanks through them I punch three times on a boge SR.

Vivi novas coming...we will see.

It's funny how some people have great success with carto tanks and others can't keep them from flooding. I now have 0 issues with flooding. It's all about air pressure inside the tank. If there is an air leak, and air is entering the tank through a break in the seal (as you vape) then the excess air pressure inside the tank IS going to build up (quickly) and force the juice out through the punched hole and out the bottom. Once I understood this...no problems. My problem is being able to taste that stale filler taste. I have one mix (caramel cappuccino) that I use in carto tanks.. it NEVER floods and tastes great for weeks with the same carto in the same tank. I guess the FA caramel capp flavor that I use (ONE drop per 10 ml) masks the filler taste.

I did have a penelope available to me but didn't have the money to spend at the time. I'm on the "notify me" list again.

I recently vaped on a 2 hole punched tank carto and it was about the best I ever had off a carto but that filler taste is still there. I could never seem to find a carto that tasted clean enough.

Oh, yeah....thanks a lot BTW, you just had to go and get me lookin at the bliss didn't you.........:p just ordered one:ohmy:
