the instructions say:
"Leave the atomizer without cartridge to dry for the night by storing the atomizer vertically on a paper tissue or dry rack"
[Q#1] Does this need to be done every night? Is this only after cleaning?

the instructions say:
"Blow into the atomizer once and a while to evacuate left over liquid"
[Q#2] What is considered "once and a while"? Once every 10 puffs, 20 puffs, 30 puffs? Once a day?

the instructions say:
"Remove cartridge at night"
[Q#3] Do I need to put a cap on the cartridge so that the remaining e-liquid is not spoiled/spilled?

I appreciate your inputs!

Ask two vapers about this and you will get 5 opinions!

Q#1 - Basically, I think what they are getting at is that it is a good idea to let the atty drain overnight rather than have a cartridge on it that may flood it. That said, I have always had good luck with just putting my ecig down at night and picking it up again in the morning. Just make sure you put a drop or two on it when you start vaping again.

Q#2 - You'll develop a sense of when it's time to "blow out" your atty. If it starts to draw hard, gurgle excessively, taste bad or you just want to start a new flavor. Blowing it out can't hurt, just wastes a little time and juice. Again, make sure to put some juice in it before vaping again.

Q#3 - Capping the cart will prevent evaporation or spillage. Not a big deal, but if I want to use a cartridge again, I put the cap on.

Wow, I've had my 502 for a week now and haven't done any of that. I keep it by my bedside and have a vape at night if I get up to pee, and vape in the morning. Nothing bad is happening so far, the 502 seems pretty durable.

I know my experience is very limited (a week) but I've probably made many new user mistakes and mistreated the 502, and it's held up thus far very well.

Thanks for your input!

It is now bedtime and so I tried to take the cartridge
off of the atomizer to let the atomizer "dry for the
night on a dry rack" as per instructions. However, the
sponge-like material soaked in e-liquid is stuck to the
atomizer, making the instruction's objective
inconceivable.:nah:

Also, a small amount of e-liquid leaked out onto the
outer part of the cartridge as I tried this, which I
found annoying.:nah:

Anyone else with this problem?
Anyone have a solution that's not going to cause
even more leakage?

are you using cartridges, or cartomizers? when you say the sponge like material is stuck to the atomizer, it makes me think the latter. In that case, just let it dry anyway, then fluff it up if possible before you refill it. It may just have to dry a bit longer than usual.

if it's a regular 510 cartridge, the filler material should stay in the cartridge and the atomizer should be a separate part that connects to the battery. there is a wick inside the atomizer that helps the liquid get to the vaporization chamber, but you should leave that alone when you let it dry.

are you using cartridges, or cartomizers?

The language the booklet uses says "cartridge".
I didn't special order anything, just got a starter
set from rockymountainvapor.com

The filler *should* stay in the cartridge. That's
the main problem I'm having.

there is a wick inside the atomizer that helps
the liquid get to the vaporization chamber, but
you should leave that alone when you let it dry.

It appears that this wick you mentioned is the
cause of the material sticking to the atomizer.
I had to physically separate it using tweezers
and then stuff it back down into the cartridge.:nah:
A small amount of filler is still stuck to this wick.:nah:

How can I prevent this from happening again?
I don't want to have to keep doing this kind of
maneuver every time the atomizer needs to be
dried.

I just hypothesized an answer to my question.:thumb:

When I tried to remove the cartridge before,
I twisted it in a circular fashion. This could be
the cause of the filler latching onto the wick.

I advise to all to avoid this motion with the
cartridge :thumb:

My guess: Its a combination of 2 things. The twisting motion combined with a very dry cartridge. Your mom should have added more juice to the cartridge before it got that dry. That should also make it less likely to get stuck to the atomizer in the future. I know the starter carts I got sure seemed to go dry more quickly than the ones I filled myself.
