I just got my first E-Cig! What kind is it?!

So, I totally just got my first e-cig, and I think it may have a bad atomizer or something because my hits are inconsistent. Sometimes I get a ton of vapor, sometimes I get just a little bit, or sometimes I get no vapor at all.

I've tried with primer-puffs and without, it doesn't seem to make a difference. I've tried with two different batteries, fully charged, and a brand new cartridge, and the hits I'm getting are still really inconsistent. Even the biggest hits I've gotten seem like less vapor than what Spikey gets in her video.

So, there's two things that I think it could be. I didn't charge my batteries for 8-12 hours the first time like Spikey says to, I charged mine for 4 like the manual said. >.>

Also, I think it could be something with the atomizer, since both batteries seem to be giving power, and there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with any of the carts I'm using. I'm new to this though, so I'm not really sure what can go wrong with an atomizer, if anything.



So! Here's where the problem comes in. I'm totally fine with buying a new atomizer/battery, but I don't want to purchase one from the retailer I got this from, since it may be defective. In order to purchase from somewhere else though, I have to make sure that it's compatible.

After reading through the forums, I'm pretty sure what I have is a 901, but I could be wrong. I purchased an E9m from e-cig dot com (which I can't link because this is my first post.)

Is this a 901, just rebranded by a chinese re-seller? From all the photos and information I can find about 901s, this looks almost exactly the same.

Basically what I'd like to know is, A) am I doing something wrong or does it sound like I have lame vaporizer, and 2), if I do need to buy more parts, am I looking for 901 parts?

Any help you guys can give is appreciated! I'm excited to be one of you now. =D

Not sure I'll be of much help here, but it's been my experience (very limited admittedly) that atomizers take at least a day or two to break in, sometimes longer, depending on how often you are using it.

First off, attys are usually filled with "primer" to prevent you from burning them out in your excitement to get started so you need to vape that off first. Then, you need to keep your carts moist but not so moist that you flood the atty.

There's a learning curve for you and a break in period for the equipment. Give it a good few days of consistent usage and see if things improve. If not, I'd contact your seller. Sometimes things don't work as they should and a good supplier should exchange/replace anything that is defective.

As far as what kind of PV you have, I can't help you there. Again, an email or phone call to your supplier would probably clear that up, but I'm sure someone will be along who will know what kind you have.

Well, one of my batteries doesn't even activate the atomizer at this point. -_-;

I'm thinking about ordering an entirely new unit from a US distributor and just trash this one, but I'm afraid if I get another 901 I'll have the same problem. Is this a model issue, or do I just have a lemon? The vapor inconsistency, I mean.

E-Cig.com's E9m, or 901 knockoff is not compatible with other 901s, unless they have changed their thread designs/couplings. It is not a true 901, or even an RN4075. Unfortunately it is a fairly tart problematic model. Just not with the actual 901 models normally.

Suck on the atomizer coupling end of the battery, without the atomizer. Does it still light? Does the atomizer work correctly with the other battery?

E-C.C is fairly notorious for having horrible to absolutely no CS, inferior product, and problems all around. I would suggest (m)any suppliers over that one.

Most of the generic batteries seem to be a problem for me these days. Why not take a look at the 510/titan/Janty Dura C. Get the manual version and instead of sucking to activate that problematic switch, you hold a button down as you draw. Take a look at the reviews section of the forum its highly regarded by many here good luck!!

So, that's what I get for shopping blind, I guess. @_@

I guess I should start looking for a replacement?

that's a centre contact issue. the centre poles are not touching when battery and atomizer are connected.
you could try and prise up the floating centre contact on the dud battery a little, not too much though else it may pop out

As others have mentioned, I strongley recommend getting a manual device where you push a button and can heat the atomizer as long as you want. The manuals basically come in two forms: the more regular looking types such as the Dura-C/510 and also now the DSE901 and the bigger battery types like the Screwdriver, Prodigy and Janty Stick. The smaller battery types will give you 2-3 hours of battery life whereas the larger battery types will give you 6-8 hours of battery life. Here are some links:

Thank you so much for the help and advice you guys, I just ordered a 510 from e-smokey treats and I think I'm going to have much better results with this kit.

Even with this piece of crap from e-cig, I still haven't had a real cigarette since monday, so that's pretty cool. :3
