Hi guys, please forgive me but I've also posted this in the UK forum to get advice on products which I can easily get over here. I'd like a more general opinion too though.

I'm a newbie vaper and an expert at quitting cigs..lol. I know if I get a decent PV I'll be able to quit for good, but I need some advice on what to buy.

After doing some research I came across the Halo Triton, but the general opinion (in the thread I started in the new members forum) is that the Triton isn't a good idea due to the incompatibility with other products and the shipping costs to the UK.

I've read tanks are the way to go in terms of quality of vaping, amount of smoke, flavour and cost?

I would like to invest in the best PV possible and I don't mind spending a good amount of money...

What I'm looking for...

-Feels and looks like a quality product
-Is not too large to take out and easily fits in my pocket
-Has a few hundred puffs before recharging
-Produces lots of vapour
-Very reliable
-Never leaks
-Brings out the flavours in the liquids (I've read that some do this better than others?)

Desirable but not a necessity:

-Can connect cartomisers as well as tank for a more discreet look when I'm out
-Compatible with other e cig accessories

I'm not sure if I should consider a variable voltage PV, I assume these are for heavy vapers that want a stronger hit?

I don't really have a budget...

I'm open to any ideas!

Thanks for your help :)

Welcome,

Depending on the amount of faff you are prepared to tolerate;
-www.ecigscrewdriver.com The Home of an E Smoking Icon - Hosted by CaveCom Small auto battery and disposable/refillable cartos. Buy two maxi's ,40 cartos, and a bottle of any juice for top ups and you have checked all your boxes.

Walking up;
Kanger Evod - any UK vendor (pm for more info)

Then you can begin the "quest for flavour"...:toast:

Have fun

You will get a lot of different answers based upon each individuals taste and experience. BUT...since you asked, I will throw in my 2cents. I started with a V2 stick battery. It was good to start. Then a couple of weeks later, I purchased a Provari which to me, is the best in its field. Its great for Cartotanks and Clearotanks. BUT, in my opinion, the very best vape I have had is on my REO Grand. It meets ALL of the requirements that you are looking for. I use the RM2 rebuildable atomizer and for flavor and vapor....It is the best. When I took my very first puff, all I could say was WOW!!! I have been using it exclusively while my Provari sits home collecting dust.

...and again, this is just MY opinion.

Hello & welcome Flavourful :)

I'm going to recommend a kit that is a tad dated now, but I've recommended it in the past to neighbours & friends & they still love it. Plus it comes with cartomisers as well as a clearomiser & you can use any tank that has a 510 thread with it -

Vape Escape Riva 1100 Deluxe Kit [VE151] - £34.95 : Vape Escape

If you order before midnight tonight, use discount code STOPTOBER for 10% off plus free shipping.

You will probably never find a setup that "never leaks" as sometimes that's just what happens and is part of vaping in general. I will throw in my 2 cents as well and recommend an "eGo" style setup, with a variable voltage (VV) battery, and a quality tank. I'f you're looking for something small, remember that the smaller the battery, the more you will have to charge it. You will quickly outgrow the cig-a-like styled devices and will want to upgrade sooner than you think. So, get yourself a Protank, Evod, or some iClear 16's (clearomizers) and an eGo VV battery (Smoktech Winder or Vision Spinner). You could start with a 650 mAh battery which will last you about 5 hours and fits in your pocket easily, or a 1300 mAh battery that will last you much longer. Good luck and happy vaping!

Hi would any of you smart vapers recommend ROK Legend? I want to upgrade from Jacvapour V1p ppc cig-a-like and want something which comes ready to go - and somewhat hassle free. Thanks.

The answer from me is NO - far better & cheaper available :) have a look at the kit I linked to or maybe this evod kit that is on offer -

Thanks for the responses everyone,

Izan, I'm really looking for something more professional so I don't feel the need to ever upgrade, I'm not sure if the Maxi fits into that category...

Cliven, the Reo Grand looks insane...lol. It doesn't look too portable though, not something that I'd keep in my pocket on a night out. I do see a lot of people mention the Provari though...that'll go on my short list! Thanks

Chrissie, thank you for that link. May I ask why you have suggested this one as opposed to the "Vape Escape Vision 1000 Ultimate" or the "Joyetech eGo-C 1000 Kit" which are listed on that website?

Vapoor, so this is the same as the Riva that Chrissie is suggesting? KGO kit1100mAh by SLB

Ruby, I suppose I can deal with a small amount of leakage over time, it's not a dealbreaker. Are you suggesting I build up the bits from scratch as opposed to getting a kit? I'm a bit lost with everything you said there...remember I'm new to all this!

Thanks everyone

Lol, partly because it is cheaper but also because it does come with cartomisers as well as a clearomiser. I still prefer the draw with cartomisers to everything else I've tried. Added to that, those Riva batteries just seem to go on & on for ever taking charge after charge.

I don't really have a budget...

I'm open to any ideas!

Although variable voltage is not necessary, its added benefits and the slight added expense to acquire it makes it a very worthwhile option. Ability to change the temperature of the vapor, to adjust the voltage to each specific flavor to find its "sweet spot", and being able to use a variety of resistance (ohm) juice attachments are some of the advantages which make it worthwhile.

Since you requested opinions on "the best" and that "I don't really have a budget" to consider, I'll suggest two setups that fall into your criteria: The Mini Provari from Provape and the Innokin iTaste MVP.

One is a tube mod and the other a box mod; both are pocket-worthy, both have variable voltage, and both may use a wide variety of juice attachments.

The Mini Provari uses a replaceable rechargeable battery which should last most of the day; carrying a spare battery in a protective plastic case can allow all day use of the Provari by just exchanging batteries. The Provari has a well-earned reputation as being the gold standard of advanced personal vaporizers and the US company that makes it will service the Provari for as long as you own it.

The MVP has a built-in rechargeable battery which can last up to 3 days before requiring recharging.

Thanks for your input Baditude. I think you're right, if I'm looking for a PV for the long term than I may as well go variable voltage from the start.

If I forget the non leaking criteria, do your recommendations stay the same?

The Mini Provari looks really good. Bit of a broad question, but is the extra cost justified? I never thought an e cig could be that pricey to be honest!

The MVP also looks good, but I think it may be a bit big to comfortably keep in my pocket with my wallet or phone!

What do you use?

Maybe what's best is I get a fairly compact one like the Riva for taking out the house (in case I lose it) and then possibly a REO, MVP or Provape to keep at home. If I got a Provape I wouldn't take it out the house...lol

Many of us do exactly that. A smaller eGo style PV for out and about and a larger APV for at home. Problem is some get used to the Variable voltage and soon enough the set voltage PVs don't cut it anymore. I use a large APV at home and the VV Spinners while out and about.

Lol, not trying to add to your confusion Flavourful, but if you want something more compact but with variable voltage, then have a look at the Vision Spinner batteries. Good chance you could find them a tad cheaper than on Vape escape but due to their customer service being second to non, I mainly buy from them myself so can find things to link to on their site easily -

Vision Spinner 1300 [VE503] - £23.99 : Vape Escape

Although I have some beautiful early edition GG mechanical mods that I would never part with, these days I mainly use my Vamo (it a tad on the large size) & my Spinner when I'm out & about.
