I keep getting logged out

while I'm reading for a while in a thread, or if I open another window to check out a supplier web site or check my email. Is that normal. Last night I was knocked off of my log in at least 5 or 6 times. It's frustrating when I go to reply in a thread or do a search.

Advice???

No, I don't. If I do check remember me, can I uncheck it when I leave the site, and reclick it while I'm in the site, so I don't get logged out?

When you log in, check Remember Me...you will have to do this each time you log in, it doesn't stay as a setting.

yes you can, all you have to do is go to the top of the page and click log out it is on the top right

I guess I'm showing my ignorance here. In some sites, if I check remember me, it recognizes my IP as soon as I enter the site. I don't really want that, due to horror stories I've read about security.

A friend had her pc taken over by a hacker - she couldn't even use her keyboard and he was using her computer, IP, etc. for his/her hacking.
Maybe I'm not as educated as most when it comes to the internet, but I try to avoid any problems.

I'll check "remember me' from now on, as long as the "remember me" status stops when I log out.
