I keep getting ripped off by "nicotine-free".

I'm trying to quit smoking. I want to switch to an e-cig so that I can still get my nicotine in my lungs, but without hurting my lungs or smelling like an ashtray.

First time I bought an e-cig, I bought some off-brand starter kit I found in my local grocery store. I had to call their tech support number to find out that it is "nicotine free". Doesn't say it anywhere on the package.

So yesterday I found a store that sells a big brand locally, and I bought one of their starter kits, this one:

EDIT - Can't post links, but it's called the "180 Smoke Starter Kit Optimal"

It doesn't say anywhere on the box that it has NO NICOTINE. I had to go on their website to find that out, after I bought it.

What can I do? I'm tired of getting ripped off, and I'm about ready to just give up on e-cigs entirely. Do ANY e-cigs have Nicotine in them? Is there anywhere I can buy e-cigs with nicotine in Toronto? I don't want to order online, partly because I'm impatient, and partly because I'm not sure about their legality in Canada.
More importantly, is there any way I can rescue this purchase? Does my "Starter kit" use some kind of standardized thread where I can just buy new cartomizers that DO have nicotine in them?

I'm not familiar with what product you purchased, so I can't give advice on how to rescue it.

As for the nicotine. You might want to try the over the counter brand Blu. It's got a pretty big following as far as cigalikes go here in the states. V2 ecigs are also pretty popular, but they are online so you'll have to wait if you order them. They do, however, have a nice selection of flavors.

For the quickest fix I would say that Blu is probably your best bet, if it's available in Canada.

Hope this helps!

There are quite a few eliquid vendors in Toronto. I have bought most of my eliquids from MapleLeafVapes. They are located in Scarborough.

You could also order from a bunch of other places such as Canvape, Vapemail etc.

They all have nicotine, unless you ask them for no nicotine option.

There is a store quite close to 180 smoke that I bought my first started kit from. The guys there have good (beginner) knowledge of vaping and can help you choose a good setup. But they have insane markups, (2-4x of online prices).

Well I just checked out Blu, and they have a big message on their site that says "Blu Cigs products are no longer available through our company in Canada due to manufacturer's changes. We highly recommend that you purchase the new exciting brand of JET kits", so I checked out this JET company, and surprise surprise, none of their products have any nicotine! At least they were a little more open about it though.

Are there really people out there who are buying e-cigs without nicotine intentionally?

I went to MapleLeafVape's website, but they don't say they are located in scarborough. They don't seem to be located anywhere, they appear to be online-only. What's the place close to 180-smoke? I bought my 180-smoke from an "authorized retailer" (crappy little convenience store) at Keele & Hwy 7.

Moe, you are buying the cig-a-like products and since ecigs with nicotine are technically not permitted in Canada, the chain stores only carry 0 nic products. You will need to source a vape shop local to you or use a trusted on line vendor. There are plenty of these in Canada and as Moralizer stated, all can sell you nicotine infused product in varying strengths.

I am honestly not fully familiar with what you are using. I dont want to "spend" your money for you, but I would walk away from those cig a likes, get into a reliable vape shop and let them set you up with a decent, refillable rig that will give you a vastly superior vaping experience. you wont be sorry for the time and money invested

I second that! You might also check out Canvape!

Canvape is only open on Saturday and Sunday :(. DashVapes and MapleLeaf are both insanely far for me. I live on the west end by Keele and Lawrence, is there anything closer?

Also, I can't view the list of Canadian suppliers. It's only available by PM, and I can't PM, and I can't reply to that thread asking for a PM.

Can you post a pic of the eCig you picked up?

The one without nicotine that ripped me off? That would be this one:

And thank you to whoever reccomended DashVape - I went over there today, and man do they have one heck of a store. Little ipads where you can browse their selection of flavours and then sample them before you buy, so cool! Anywho they sold me an KangerTech EVOD 2 - a bit bigger, but it seems to get the job done. And their juice actually has nicotine in it. Hooray! I'm on my way to smelling and breathing better!

It's there on their homepage just below the funkyvapes logo, it's easy to miss.

The address is: 3638 Lawrence Ave East Unit 2, 2nd floor Scarborough, On

Glad to see they were able to help you out, Kanger is a good brand, you should do well with it. Most importantly, you got the nic you needed. Good luck with your vaping journey and stick with ECF, lots of good information and advise available here when you need it.
