It was heaven! I thought "I can do this!" It's been 2 weeks since my first hit. I can't say it's been easy. Trying to figure out how everything worked and what was wrong when it didn't work. I posted my first week and had some of the pro's scratching their heads due to "lack of knowledge" and parts, models, ect. This board is truly a SUPPORT system! I'm not even going to post what equipment I'm using (no...not again) because I still lack the lingo! I just want to know "how do I get that "same" heavenly hit EVERYTIME?" I'm cleaning my stuff. I think I've figured out when my cartridge needs changing and when it's time to charge the battery! Oh yes, the basic necessities to survive. I haven't ventured out too much with trying different atomizers; however I have orderd a clearomizer??? Hope I got that right. I think, for me, it will be a no-brainer. I've tried a drip-tip. Loved it! After a few days, it didn't seem to be vaping like it was in the beginning. I went back to filling the catridge. Did that for a few days. Tonight I put the drip tip back on and bingo, worked like a charm.

My question is, how do you find the perfect spot where you get that perfection each and every time? Should I experiment more? I got very lucky with my juice. Found one love at first sight! Tried a few others and thought if it isnt broke, don't fix it!

Any advice would really be appreciated! By the way, in 2 weeks I've only smoked 1 pack of analogs! When I can get to the point that I know I have a back-up and won't be left high and dry, I will won't buy anymore! Sounds silly, huh?

Not silly at all, Kathy. There can be a pretty big learning curve to vaping and some of us seasoned vets still struggle with consistency. I think the most difficult aspect of vaping is that it is different for everyone. That "heavenly vape" can vary so much between different users that what is perfect for one person may not cut it for someone else. We can give recommendations as to what works for us and sometimes that is successful, but for the most part it comes down to trial and error.

I like clearomizers myself, but they can take a bit of fiddling to keep them working right. I used them for so long that it was second nature to me to tweak them, but can be frustrating to someone who isn't used to it. I don't recall what equipment you are using, but if it is an ego set up of any kind, I'd recommend the Vision Ego Stardust cartomizers. I just switched to them myself and they perform as well as my clearos on their best day with none of the hassle.

They are hard to come by these days, however, because as soon as a vendor gets them in, they sell out lol. I've gotten them from GotVapes and Virgin Vapor, but I believe others like Altsmoke and Mountainvapor are carrying them as well. They don't all call them Stardusts though, but they are easy to identify because they look like an ego cone, only clear and with a drip tip mouthpiece.

Thanks for your response! I am going to try the Vision Stardust! I guess a better choice of words I was looking for should have been a "consistant vape." I can see that one style doesn't fit most! Yes, I'm using an E-Go Mega. Guess I can't expect to cut through the chase without the trial and error! Thanks for your reply!

One more thing to point out on the Stardusts. I purchased the standard resistance ones because that was all they had. They are 2.5 - 2.7 ohms. I find they perform much better at around 4 - 4.2 volts which is higher than the Ego battery puts out. A few of the companies are getting in lower resistance Stardusts, which I believe are around 2.0-2.2 which will perform better on a regular Ego.

Just an FYI

Since you're not going to be switching flavors a tank system would definatly be a wise choice. Something that will hold alot of juice andbhas a reliable atty. I cant speak for the Visions ctourtelot mentioned(other than eyeballing em cause of my fondness for clearomizers) but i have had good success with a dual coil cartomizer tank. 5Ml tank is enough for about 3 days for me, great flavor and relativly inexpensive. Good luck!

So, are you saying the battery that came with my starter kit (900) would not work with the Stardust?

No, it'll work just fine. The lower ohms version will just give a better hit on that battery. I have an Ego Booster, which is a device that looks like a small ego battery. It screws onto my existing ego battery and has a dial that allows me to vary the voltage. I like the Stardusts on just the battery itself, but they work even better at a higher voltage.

When people realized this, they came out with the lower ohm cartos so they would perform better on the regular ego batteries. I just wanted to give you that heads up for when you went to order and saw 2 options so you'd know which ones to go with. If they only offer the 2.5-2.7 option, however, it will work well too.

I'm just a bit spoiled with higher voltage lol

Welcome to vaping and glad you found these forums. The people and informative posts here will definitely get you through all the pitfalls of being new to vaping and help you find the stuff that works best for you and your vaping style/needs.

I quit last May and haven't looked back, but I've had lots of bumps in my road from then till now, and still have quite a few at times lol

I LOVED the "taste" I got with clearomizers and used them for a good while. The only problem I had with them was I tend to have my PV in my hand all the time, or at least a pocket and I almost always have 3 dogs bouncing around me. So the clearomizer would get bumped often and it would crack or tilt and start leaking. I had to have something that could take rough bumps often. In stepped Boge cartomizers and those have served me well, usually lasting 4-6 days depending on juice and usage. The flavor is nothing like a tank type, but has done well for me. I recently read the reviews on the Stardust carts and they sound like they might be able to hold up to my frequent bump crew (dogs), so I am definitely going to try those also. I currently vape on an ego, Alt Smoke Alpha and an Alt Smoke Omega, all 3.7 volts, all are 510 connections.

The best advice I could offer anyone new, is to keep reading everything on these forums, find something satisfactory to your personal needs and keep plenty of those on hand while you try new/different things, and when you go out from home take more juice, batteries, etc than you think you'll need until you really get a firm idea on what your vape needs are. There are regular cigs sold on every corner out there, but not so for our vape supplies. Make a vape bag to take out, whether it be a ziploc baggy or a make-up bag or whatever. I would be doing so well but forget an extra battery, or take too little juice and end up buying a pack of cigs when I would be out longer than I thought I would be. It would be such a disappointment to me to "cheat" lol I even take extra vendor cards with me all the time now so I can hand them out to people who ask me "what is that in your hand?" I try to help anyone and everyone I come across kick the analog habit lol I had tried EVERYTHING to quit till I found vaping. Nothing else worked.

Those are little things that helped me the most when I first started, I tend to leave the detailed stuff to the pros on here to explain. Keep plenty of your sure fired "I will not have to have an analog" stuff handy and keep trying new things. You'll eventually settle into the perfect set up for your own needs.

Good luck and have fun!!

**Addition: one very good reason to keep experimenting with new things is that our fabulous vape suppliers are ALWAYS seeking to improve the vaping experience all around.

For me, I hate, hate, HATE atomizer taste. So dripping is typically a failure for me, because I don't drip often enough, and poof, atomizer taste happens, and I make many horrific faces. Tanks are what's been a godsend to me - the ego tanks are working okay, and I have a Riva-T tank that holds a couple ml of juice and gives me consistent flavor until I'm down to the last few drops in the tank. I've got a proper tank/carto setup en-route now so that I can play with 3ml/6ml tanks and see if they'll work out for me, and I keep eyeing the glass tanks wistfully, but I'm not going there yet. :)

Everyone's tastes are different, though. My husband likes clearomizers and cartomizers a lot, but he's grown fond of tanks, too (the flavor's just so rich in a tank).

It depends also in part on what juice you're using... some of the cinnamon-based juices will actually crack the plastic in tanks, so you need to be a bit cautious!
