I know it's stripped, but...

So about 2 months ago I got my Vamo V2. And oh, how I love it. It was my first APV, and, much like a first love, in my passion and over-zealousness I have wronged it. Ok, so really I'm just clumsy and a drunk.

Here's the brass tacks of the matter: Before my Vamo I was an Ego man, and used only Kanger T3s (and one ProTank). I wanted to upgrade and got talked into the Vamo. As I said, I loved it (but I also dropped it-- a lot). Finally, I noticed my 510-ego adapter wouldn't screw in anymore. I figured the adapter was stripped-- no big loss, they're only $5. But then the new ones came, and right out of the package they wouldn't screw in. Crap.

So I began relying entirely on my ProTank. But then that started tasting terrible. That gross coil taste, but all the time, even with a brand-new-fresh-out-of-the-package coil. Weird. That's ok, I am on a big EVOD kick anyway, those still fit and taste fine. Only now they don't. The two EVODs I use most started tasting that same burnt coil taste all the time-- I have frantically tried every new coil with no results. But the two I didn't use as much taste fine. Weird, right?

So, did I just strip my Vamo, and now all of my tanks and clearos aren't lining up right and tasting bad? If so, will they work fine on a new Vamo? (I'm assuming there's no way to just replace the threading) Can I salvage the Vamo at all? And if not, can I at least still rely on my tanks and clearos to work on a new device? I am in desperate need of help here, and would appreciate anything you have to offer. Thanks in advance.

Are you saying that you stripped the 510 connection threads on your Vamo?

I wish there were new top end caps for the Vamo, I would buy a few and use them to make mods. Somebody (like myself) might buy your stripped Vamo on the ECF classifieds if you get verified. I'm not the only one with a Vamo with fried circuitry. Maybe somebody would sell you a Vamo like mine, and you could fix yours? Either way, you need to be verified to use the ECF classifieds.

As long as you don't strip the threads on your tanks and clearos, you should be able to use them on your next device. If you keep screwing them into your messed up Vamo, you will probably damage them too. Get a backup, pronto!

I should have asked in my last post, do you have a 510-510 or 510-Ego adapter? Some folks use those or tank airflow adapters to overcome stripped threading issues. If you have an adapter, be very careful not to screw it in too far. The 510 to Ego adapters are known to squish the Vamo center post down too far, which can cut the o-ring that separates the center post (+) from the threading (-). That may cause a short and the Vamo will no longer work until it's repaired, I know this as I've done the repair. There are threads covering this repair here in the Vamo forum.

I don't understand how any of this would make the taste change. That sounds like a separate issue.
