Hi guys, here it is, real simple.

I smoke 1 pack a day of marlboro reds, I need to quit, its been 20 years. I LOVE the hit you feel in your throat, this is a MUST HAVE for now.

I bought an ehealth cig this morning from my local tobacco store. Looks like a cigarette came with 3 chargers and a pack of 10 carts. It pretty much sucks or maybe it doesnt, it doesnt resemble a marlboro red in terms of the hit and I have to suck my eyeballs into the back of my head to get a decent amount of "smoke" etc..

I need a cig that mimicks a marlboro red, shoot me a link if you would please. I LOVE and HATE smoking real cigs, I need help to quit.

Yes do not give up hope yet, you are on the right track by not going bakc to analogs even after the cheap knockoff of an ecig. Finding your perfect juice to vape is the hardest and most fun part of vaping, just remember i do not think there are juices out there that taste 100% like marlbro red so you would have to settle for one that is almost the same.

gl and welcome to the vaping family

This is a good kit. First hit the 20% off button at the top left.

Scroll down the the 900 mah carto deluxe kit. Batteries will last about 9 hours each and you get a good vape.

Everyone here has been where you are. You'll never find something that does\taste what a real cig does. But, while you're on that journey, you will find plenty of flavors and PV's that get the job done. I don't know anything about the ecig you have. Just know that most folks end up moving on from their first ecig rather quickly after they have a bit of coaching, or see the huge amount of options out there.

If you want something that is cig sized, and hits really well, try looking at one of these.

V4L - Vapor4Life - Vapor King - the best e-cigarette/smoking alternatives!

If you don't mind having something a bit larger(not to big), that REALLY hits well and has a battery to last all day, check out the Igo from Nhaler

NHaler • Smoking Alternatives

Juice....well, it's hard to help folks here. Everyone is different. My current all day vape is Prime15 from Halo. Very good imo.

Whatever you do, use the list of Forum suppliers on ECF. Much less likely to get burned that way. Good luck!!

I was in the same boat as you were -- PAD smoker for 17 years, got my first e-cig kit from a local retailer and was unhappy with it. This worked for me (I'm on week #5 of no cigarettes), but taste is subjective...

Get an eGo starter kit, 10 LR (low resistance -- 2.0 ohm) blank (not pre-filled) cartomizers for a 510 (510 is the size of the eGo), 20 ML RY4 (sometimes called "Ruyan4", "R4", "Our 4", etc. -- very popular) juice, and some 5ML samplers of other flavors. This should keep you going for a week or so, long enough to decide if you like the RY4, or one of the other flavors you sampled. I'd suggest a high nicotine level (~24mg) to start. You'll probably go through about 3ML of juice a day, so you'll be ordering more once you know what you like.

I think AltSmoke[dot]com is the best site for new users. It's got a great "Learn" section, and the selection isn't so crazy that it will put off someone new to this. You can get everything I mentioned above here (they call RY4 "Our 4"). You can also get this stuff at a lot of other places.

It's not going to taste exactly like a Marlboro Red (no e-cig really tastes like a traditional cig) -- it's going to taste better. You'll get a nice throat hit, a nice whoosh of nicotine into your system, and a very rich, pleasant taste (a hell of a lot better than any cigarette in my opinion).

Welcome to ECF !
While you have this, don't draw that hard...take a longer gentle draw...it's not used like smoking a cigarette.

Yeah my first ecig was like EHealth except I had manual batteries so that helped the drag a bit. But the cartridges are the most annoying ever to refill and hold hardly any juice.

If you are currently stuck on wanting something small and looking just like a cigarette, the ONLY thing I would recommend is a Joye brand 510 with MANUAL batteries in white, and the tan or white Boge 510 cartomizers from NiteLiteVapor.us used with thin juices (PG w/ 20% or less VG). (or you could go black 510 manual with black Boge 510 cartos). Use standard resistance cartos only on slim ecigs (2.5 to 3 ohms). The manual 510 batteries are sealed against damage/death by juice leaks and make it easier to get a good hit.

If you are willing to look a bit less like a cigarette to have prefilled cartomizers and a stronger hit - see SmokelessImage (also Bloogplanet and Halocigs G6) and Vapor4Life - and I recommend manual batteries. They can use each others cartomizers. V4L allows longer drags, the others have slightly more charge.

If you want something 3.7v with a long battery charge, consider the Riva 510 kits at Liberty-Flights.com (the Riva 510 kits there are new 3.7v ones from the correct manufacturer - press 20% off upper left front page, then shop). I also recommend Boge and other cartomizer blanks for your favorite juices. These big 450mah+ batteries can use standard resistance OR the hotter low resistance "LR" stuff.

One tiny bit of advice i can offer. When i first started all of a couple of days ago lol I did the same as you, i pulled so hard i thought i would pop an eye out. You need to teach your brain that your not smoking a real cig. with the e-cig you need to take long slow pulls.

A real cig has a fire on the end which is causing a chemical reaction converting a solid into gas. A e-cig you convert a liquid into a gas or some nonsense like that lol Bottom line is the fire converts faster than the the atomizer. So you need to take a slower pull.

Does any of that make sense or is the meds talking again :)

I smoked the same thing for 22 years and now have just passed the 2 month mark without. I found that I didn't need anything that tasted like a red, I vaped menthol, english toffee, apple cinnamon and a few others. I like the Boge 2.0 ohm single coil cartos over anything else now and I started with the ego tanks but not much flavor and it seems that they all eventually would leak. Look for dormouse's posts on how to fill a carto, it does take some patience compared to the fill and use of a ego tank system. The mint, menthol, and cinnamon flavors can get you through some tough times and have plenty of throat hit

Hello Woody1
Welcome here, and congrats on quitting analogs..It won't be easy, but once all these nice people here
direct you to the right place for a good pv and juice you'll be sailing in no time..I started out, with a disposable, I thought I would turn insideout the first hit I took...You'll find out that once your off analogs for a short time to even take a puff off an analog is YUCKY......Good Luck...

I got my first ecig in early January. Started with a Bloog and my only hope was to increase my ability to "smoke" and to be able to do it in more places. I had no intention of quitting cigarettes.. quitting the analogs came by surprise.
Looking back, I think it was a good first choice (for me)... easy to use, not a huge learning curve and felt similar in my hand.
After almost a year, I still love my bloog for its ease of use, though its not my main piece of equipment these days.
A few days after I got my first ecig, I told my mother about it (she's smoked for almost 50 years, I've smoked for about 30 years). She ordered the same one I started with and she hasn't smoked an analog since!
Congrats on quitting and finding such a helpful forum!

There ya go Woody, a whole bunch of good advice :)
The Riva suggested is a really good setup and will last you a long time. There is a whole world of things that will screw onto it.
Freedom Smokes has a flavor, MaxBoro, that has a smooth tobacco flavor to it. You may want to start with a higher nic level, I.E. 24-36mg to get you going.
If you decide to try Boge LR cartos or something similar, you'll be well on your way
Best of luck to you :)
