After smoking for 40+ years, I made the switch in December. I began with a relaxed attitude, thinking "I'll try it. If I like it, I'll stick with it. I'll probably keep smoking as well -- but who knows...?"

I don't feel any great need to be a non-smoker. But here we are... I haven't had a smoke since December.

That's exactly what I did, too. I knew if there was pressure, I'd panic, so I decided not to pressure myself, but the vaping totally satisfied me and I haven't had a smoke since I got my first little vape pen the first of June. Congratulations! Don't you feel wonderful now?

I did it the same way too. As a matter of fact I forced myself to smoke at least one cigarette each day until a week and a half after I started vaping I remembered I didn't smoke my allotted cigarette the day before. So I lighted one and had to put it out after 3 puffs, I started gagging and thought I was going to throw up. Haven't touched one in 3 1/2 years.

Good for you! Congratulations.

I know exactly what you mean by not pressuring yourself. I too bought my first e-cig with no real plan to quit the cigs. I tried vaping after I was outside on my patio having a smoke one evening and my upstairs neighbour yelled "......n cigarettes!" Egads, that was enough to force me into our local vape store. I hate the idea of bothering people with cigarette smoke.

I bought an eGo ONE (and soon after, a 2nd for back-up) and figured I'd just give it a go...see what happened.

It's been close to 3 weeks now without a cigarette. Honestly? - it's been pretty seamless. Never thought that would happen. I've even been around friends who smoke and I just puff away on my eGo ONE completely satisfied. They look at me like I have 10 heads but I don't care.

My clothes don't stink, I don't get a nasty whiff of cig smoke from my hair and i can vape while my neighbour is on her patio and not suffer guilt or be the recipient of expletives hurled in my direction.

Pure bliss.

Congrats again!

Congrats!
Month free of smokes, low pressure here too. It was actually spir of moment decision to even get a vapor pen. And I had just bought a pack of smokes. I still have it.
Still go out for smokes with smoker friends, and feel no longing what so ever! I never ever thought I could quit so effortlessly. I wish I had made the switch sooner!

:toast:

soon you'll find yourself getting rid of ashtrays!

That was one of the hardest things ... :(

I had just found a really cool ashtray for the car, fits in the cup holder with a flip top and a solar-powered LED to light the receptacle at night ...

Drove around with that thing for 6 months after I quit smoking, finally reluctantly gifted it to a smoking neighbor ...
