Question: Glass bottles do not come with childproof caps do they????? I guess im wondering which is more important - the benefits of glass or the fact that a child cant get into a poisionous subtance (Nicotine)?? Not trying to be a smartbutt -- serious question -- I personally think glass is nicer, but I worry about (for the general public not my case specifically) kids getting into the juice with easy to open bottles. Something to ponder I guess...............

A decorative glass fronted lock box, maybe?

Perhaps mounted high on a wall, or over the mantle would be nice.

I'll get right to work on that, too. Thanks for the idea.

I'm e-mailing them now with that very question...GOOD JOB! (Now where did I put those darn gold stars?)

Loooooooooooool!! That means they just got TWO emails about it!!

....and YorkieGirl1, you bring up a VERY good point!! No... glass bottles DON'T have a childproof cap... so..... now that puts another spin on things from my perspective. Would a great distributor offer only glass products (for the sake of long-term taste) , or only offer plastic (for the safety of children).... or.... (wait for it) .... BOTH!! :toast:

are you sure the droppers are glass too?

Just fired off an e-mail to service@specialtybottle.com with the following message:

Hi.

Are the dropper tops provided with items like your 4 Dram Amber Glass Vial w/ Dropper made of glass or plastic? And do you know the composition of the bulb?

Thanks in advance,

Rick Herron

Let's see how fast they can get back with me, shall we?

(I'm guessing glass, though.)

The small 5 to 10 ml bottles are a choking hazard. Even with the larger bottles, the flexible plastic seems like it could be chewed through. By the time kids are 5 or so, a childproof cap is at best a puzzle that provides maybe 5 minutes of entertainment. juice bottles should always be kept out of reach and locked up regardless of closure type.

As a professional woodsmith, I think that problem won't really BE a problem. I might just come up with some decorative safety-glass-fronted display cases with child-safety in mind...to sell reasonably, of course.

I smell lockbox.

I love your thinking, but we're on the wrong end of the spectrum..... ((I wish I could say more, but I'm in the wrong specialized forum to do so right now)) :2cool:

I'm glad you're looking into the droppers - it'd be really unfortunate if they were plastic!

I was just going to order the bottles with the standard caps because they're cheaper. It doesn't look like the dropper goes all the way down to the bottom. So you'd likely have to use a pipette or syringe to get the last bit out anyway. I'm just going to save myself some money and skip the droppers when I order. I'm not concerned about the 30 seconds or so that my juice would spend in a plastic pipette or syringe.

yes... you could transfer using a pipette if you really needed to... but from my personal experience, I can tell you that I tend to tilt the bottle as much as possible, to get the most liquid out as possible. Whatever can't be drawn out that way, USUALLY just gets dumped into to the next bottle. Maybe that's not the most "proper" way to do things... but it's what happens when you're in a hurry and need drawer space

Excellent...didn't think about the "bulk" angle, but YOU missed the all-important bulb composition question. GOOD JOB, THOUGH!!!

hahahaha - just saw this... and you're right!! I guess we'll have to see who they respond to FIRST, to see just WHO has to buy WHO a beer?? (giggle) :toast:

Good to know. I actually have a cart with some bottles in it and was waiting to complete my order until someone heard back about the droppers. I'm still going to order mostly bottles with standard caps but I think I'll get a few of those dram size bottles with the droppers to keep in my e-cig purse case for convenience while out and about.
