I think I've come fairly far in 6 months
No doubt you're a fast study. You've picked up a LOT in 6 months. For me sqonking is definitely not the "be all, end all" to vaping. It is another option should you someday decide to give it a shot. On average I do believe that rda's produce better flavor than RTA's. I do however have a couple of RTA's that rival if not match my best rda's in flavor. Obviously, that's per my taste buds.

I know exactly what you're referring to, but squonking and dripping now aren't comparable to 2010 and the few years thereafter. You actually did have to drip a few drops then. Now you can just squirt some juice in, and the risk of flooding is very minimal. I have quite a few RDAs and they don't leak. I don't miss those little 510 atomizers or cartos at all. One extra drop is all it took to be slurpy.
Same here, i even drip on the go with 2 pair of gloves hehe :thumb: cold as **** outside but imo worth the 2 seconds it takes me to drip or even paint the wicks from time to time. 0 leaks or issues with mine and i'm not even sure i wick it correctly but still get so much flavor i can't even believe it ahah !

I can imagine that a squonker with a carto would be a pain, but I have never had a problem with leaking with mine. Can't see that it would be much messier than a tank, easier to build. With a moderate build on a mech maintenance is minimal. I refill the bottle once a day, replace the battery once a day re wick once a week, build a new coil once a month. Easy, reliable and cheap. Lot's more affordable squonkers around these days.
No way I would ever go back to a tank. YMMV

between here and there
I have two REO's with Hadaly's on top that have been great for quite a long time. Personally I'm not sure how they are messy, must be user error :)
Yes, you are probably correct, user error. As I stated in one of my other post, there is a trick or a knack to squonking that I just could not master. I was only stating why I did not like or have any desire to use them, not that they should not be used by those who want and like to do so.

:)

It wasn't a shot at you Sugar and Spice, just a flip side view of an old time REO user. Until the top AF tanks that recently came out I just found a squonker a preferred device and no messier than most of the tanks on the market.

I haven't really been in the buying scene as I was pretty satisfied with my setup for the past few years but stumbled on this thread while doing some initial searching on squonking and trying to get used to this tapatalk app.

Squonking seems to have made great leaps in the past several years. I initially avoided it as good squonk mods and atties ere hard to find and somewhat cost prohibitive.

While I liked the flavor of drippers the process and things I needed to haul around was too cumbersome for my tastes. Thus, I stuck to tube mechs and RTAs for the past few years.

I finally decided to give it a try a couple of months ago and am so glad I did. There is a bit of a learning curve but just starting out is a lot easier with some of the recent kits like the Dripbox and the Pico eLeaf Squeeze.

All the taste of a dripper without having to drip or carry around a bottle (usually)!

My only issue is with finding a great atomizer to top it while still being pocketable and leak-resistant at all angles. I've pretty much found it and am now looking to find a good single-battery, regulated squonk mod that fills all my requirements that isn't outrageously priced or extremely hard to find.

It's not quite there yet but the Dripbox2 and the Therion BF comes petty close. For now, the unregulated Dripmod and the Pico Squeeze have been fitting the bill :)

And there is the Revenger Go if you want an internal battery.

I ended up buying a Sense V Jet 230. At 1st I had buyers remorse but as I’ve been using it more and adjusting air flow I’m liking it much better. The flavor just wasn’t as good as the Revenger mini but it’s there now.
